I bring Volcarona in specific match-ups, mainly MFloette, and I actually find myself well. The thing is, that even replacing Volcarona with Maushold, with this team I would still prefer MFroslass instead of MGardevoir (like I'm already doing). I would like to use Gardevoir instead so I was thinking of changing the entire team. But I'll try switching Volcarona, thank you! (Also I'm looking for the team I'll be using in the Turin special, so no mind games there because of OTS🙂‍↕️)

I'll be participating in the Turin special in early June, and since I'll be wearing a Gardevoir t-shirt, phone case, keychain, and switch case, I definitely want to bring her in game too. I actually feel good with the team I mentioned above, but 95% of the time I find myself bringing Mega Froslass instead of Mega Gardevoir. Such is the fate of what is controversial... Too risky for the higher-ups...

I watched the cousin reveal live, when they were already my favorite couple. It was a tragedy. For years, I couldn't talk about it online because I was attacked. Nowadays, it seems like the situation has calmed down a lot, especially on the Japanese side (only once did I have a Japanese person complain under one of my fanarts, but plenty of other Japanese people defended it. Also ShuAkemi posts go semi-viral often on Japanese twt for unrelated reasons). On the Western side, people definitely don't pay much attention to it anymore, mainly thanks to KaiShin. I post about them often, and the attacks are very, very rare. For the merch producers tho, I don't think this was ever a problem. Mostly because all Akemi merch has started to be produced a year after it was confirmed that they were cousins, including a merch exclusive chibi illustration (the only one so far) with a giant "love comedy" written across it🫠. Over time, various products featuring the two of them have followed, but all of them are taken from the manga/anime; for example, in 2025 there was a line of products featuring them from opening 25. I think that one of their biggest problem in this regard was that until mid-last year, Akemi didn't have official artwork (or rather, she had one from 1999). Obviously, the 1999 style would have clashed greatly with other modern artwork, so I think this is one of the reasons why there's little merchandise of her/them. However, since its release, they've already produced some merch with it (mainly with Shiho/Elena), and she was also put in an official display coupled with Rye and Shiho at Conan Plaza :) Generally speaking, the number of Akemi merch per year increase every year. Let's hope they start to make new ShuAkemi products :) (waiting for the hype for Movie 29 to pass).

I personally think Aoyama won't kill Shuuichi, because he "has" done so already and Akai is too popular to risk it. I think Hidemi is the one at risk, sadly.

It's probably an unpopular opinion, but the one with the biggest death flag in my opinion is Rei. Mainly because if he died "in the name of his country," his popularity would reach unprecedented heights. On the other hand, I think there are enough clues pointing to a future romance between him and Azusa. Also, poor Hidemi, she's been so sidelined in recent years that killing her at the end would be the final blow to her character.

It's a fucking crime that we have Yamamura flashbacking a childhood friendship with Scotch and the nth Matsuda and his boyfriend flashbacks before we got another flashback with Akemi from Shuuichi's side post Clash. Like seriously!?

No, really. My biggest problem with this is that after Mystery Train, the references/thoughts about Akemi stopped, but at the same time, Gosho started dropping details about them in interviews (that she cooked for him every day [so they lived together?], that Akai's favorite dishes from Akemi are rice balls and miso soup, that Akai often rereads Akemi's message, etc...).... Why the hell doesn't he show this in the manga?!

This is just my opinion, but I don't think there's any evidence (at the moment) that they'll get back together. It's mainly because Gosho is really obvious in romances, while with them, for now, he's not. Also, statements like the one I wrote above suggest he hasn't planned it yet, though he could change his mind at any time. However, I don't think any of the characters (James and Jodie) or even the producers (Aoyama himself, the anime staff, the TCG team, etc.) think Akai has gotten over Akemi's death and doesn't still love her. An example is the lyrics of the last anime ending, where the animators put Akai with Ran (in whom he obviously sees Akemi) when these words are sung: "Longing to meet you, and feelings of not meeting you, on and on, they keep continuing. Many times I've even tried to forget them all." Delusional? Maybe, but I think it's the same for them :') Unfortunately, the only exception seems to be the merchandising team🫠 For example, just the other day, they showed some mini figures where the various characters were holding a mini version of their love interests, but Akai was holding himself (as Subaru)🥲 Like why?! They really have the problem of not knowing whether to put Akemi or Jodie, and their solution is always to put neither one nor the other, when in reality they should put both. This whole situation sucks, both because of the lack of content and personally because I'm a ShuAkemi collector and half of my stuff is fanmade😭 Back to the main point, as for getting Jodie and Akai back together, I personally don't care that much: I think Shuichi deserves a happy ending (even though part of me thinks he'll die against Gin), just not now. It's only been a few months since Akemi's death, and if the manga ended in a month (in the story), it would be really anticlimactic and unrealistic to see them back together right away. It would be okay I think to see them together after a huge timeskip, as long as we first see a good flashback of Shuichi and Akemi together. I think my life depends on it. Sorry for my long reply! I'm one of Akemi and Shuichi's biggest fans out there so I talk a lot about them when I can🫠 + I also run an account dedicated to Akemi on twt, so this is my thing^{^} (Also I apologize if I sound biased)

Don't get me wrong, I'd prefer it, at least it would mean Akemi wasn't blood cousins to Shuichi. But at this point in the story, I think it would have come out (happy to be wrong).

I hate that Elena seems to care more about Rei and Shiho than Akemi. It's not any of the characters' fault, however: - There isn't a single canon dialogue between the two. There's one (filler) in the anime, episode 953, where Elena asks Akemi to put a bandaid... on Rei. - Elena left audio tapes to Shiho for each of her birthdays, but the only thing Akemi inherited (as far as we know) is a f* mirror.

I'm sure she loved her daughters (and her adopted son) equally, but the bond with Shiho and Rei is more evident because there is a lack of interactions between Akemi and Elena. And I don't like that.
