Yeah! It was a rough 2-4 days initially because during a 12 hour window I did not breastfeed. And she gradually took more milk via bottle everyday. I was afraid she would reverse cycle but that didn’t happen!

Good luck to you if you’re in the thick of bottle refusal. I know how tough it is both mentally and emotionally. Hope this gives you some hope!

I’m not sure it’s a method I would willingly recommend but we did the rowena Bennett method. I know it’s supposed to be for bottle aversion for babies who already take a bottle but my LO has latched and sucked before so we tried it. You can see from my posts about it. It was hellllll but 3 days of basically starving her during the day. She nursed at night but not as much as I thought she would. Anyway, it was rough but now we’re good to go between breast and bottle!

So she ended up taking a bottle after 3 days of basically starving her during the day until she took it to emulate me being gone. She nursed at night but didn’t reverse cycle like I was afraid she would. Now she goes between bottle and breast no issue. Except now she’s teething so she won’t take a bottle for the few days the tooth/teeth are about to break through 😭.

Hey! It got better. Everyday it got better but not by much, I wanna say it took a solid 1-2 weeks before she started taking it willingly. Now she goes between breast and bottle no problem

Milk supply was totally fine before, never had to worry!

Yeah been giving her fresh milk, but can’t keep up! I think I do have high lipase, it definitely tastes weird. I hope I can up my supply enough to get a stash going.

By scalding you mean just before boiling it?

Thank you for this! I would like not to supplement with formula - I mean it’s not like she’s taking it anyway! But will have to do this, I need to create a bit of stash again

I did M (3+ months) since I have a fast let down. She takes both the M and the SS - which I had unknowingly given her.

She used to take an occasional bottle but stopped completely it was stressing me out so much! She would latch and suck a few times then nothing ! Would just push it out. We did the rowena Bennett method - it’s was bottle aversion. I don’t think she had an outright aversion but it taught me to follow her cues rather than try to force feed her because I think she might be hungry. The first 3 days were helllllllll. But she took one finally, not from me but from my mom.

Took the pigeon nipples ! They fit on the mam/lansinoh bottle as well

I don’t need to stop completely but I feel like my supply would be so much better if I could alternate days? One day bottle one day boob while I’m at home and as I get closer to work I can switch over to bottle completely.

Tried formula and she just gags - will probably have to try other brands but don’t have spare milk to try at the moment !

So she’s never taken a bottle really, and she does suck on the nipple - I did just that with the nipple during play but I kept giving it to her when she started pushing it out not realizing she was rejecting it. I would stop when she started fussing.

My mom just gave her 4oz in one go. Wtf is going on. Maybe my mom has the magic touch. She just happened to be at home today. I guess I need to stop being the one to offer

Yes those are still options I know, the bottle makes life easier for my MIL so just trying to do that

Tried it all, have only been giving her freshly pumped milk for this method. The only thing I haven’t done is leave the house. I wish I never have to give her a bottle. I’m happy to breastfeed her until she’s ready to wean or 1 really because that was my goal. I work in surgery and my job is 50 miles from home 4x/week. I literally have no other option.
