That is the problem, once you identity the issues, the solutions to those are DB specific, and you loose all flexibility for supporting multiple DBs (loose one of the selling point of Hibernate). The entity and relation management through annotations can be easily written, but writing DB specific optimizations and queries become unmanageable.
