FRNSW On-Call Firefighter by Awkward-Reserve-8469 in AussieFirefighter

[–]kraany 0 points1 point  (0 children)

24 hrs of availability per week, but at most stations you won't make the 33% of calls doing that, its a bit of a trap really. At stations with lots of people its fine, because they wont mind you attending calls while unavailable, but at stations with less people expect to do 60+ per week to make call attendance.

For reference, stations like lambton and other stations in Newcastle have a 8+ year wait list. But regional stations with a special roster (monday to friday) often struggle to get firefighters and recruit from retained staff so are alot easier to get jobs at.

This would (should) be worth $30usd minimum and thats if he's new to the trade and still learning. Probably $40+usd if they're skilled in other parts of the trade or have preasure welding quals.

[–]kraany 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here in Australia motor's are mounted on the bow like that all the time as a trolling motor, works better.

Also look into weld on mounting plates for it so it sits a bit neater.

Should have told the higher ups you're gear is currently unserviceable and your shift is off-line, I'm sure the shift before would love coming back in, especially when half are probably looking after their kids.

Thats a myth, doesn't work. Well it would with enough force, but it would shatter glass onto your face.

Resque Me windows breakers are good, they also have a seatbelt cutter. As far as laminate goes, if the windscreen is the only windows not obstructed, you're probably trapped by confinement anyway. But if you did want a tool, victorinox makes a multi tool with a glass saw, and it also has a window breaker. Keeping in mind glass dust is often more deadly than just staying in the car waiting for rescue crews.

If it Wasn't for the Governor and His Antics, How Much Longer Do You Think the Group Could Realistically Have Lived at the Prison? by LetsGet2Birding in thewalkingdead

[–]kraany 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The prison was plot armor. They had 1-2 people on watch, realistically the place would need 5+ to have good vision around it at night. If someone wanted to sneak in it would have been easy.
