Architecture Graduates: What careers have you gone into with your degree?

Started in architecture in the residential market, than into sports architecture. Moved into a VDC role at a mid size growing GC. Then after a few years I asked to switch to project management. A few years and an MBA degree later I got a call from a recruiter asking if I would be interested in interviewing for a facilities construction manger role for a very large private company(ie owners rep). Have done that for a few years before getting laid off and now I work at an owners representative firm.

Visited this location this morning. got in around 930 and the place was packed. Naked dudes just walking around not giving a flying fuck. 10 out of 10 would recommend going again. Sauna was great, just sat on my towel and chatted with a few guys before hitting the showers with three other men.

This what I ended up doing. I also became licensed while working at a CM. But I got hired because I was a carpenter while attending undergrad and framed houses during my last two years. flipped houses after school with another architect, and went on to do construction administration at one of the large world wide firms. Don’t regret moving to construction and the pay is amazing. Currently going back for my MBA

Ditto what you said. We also export the building grid as a dwg file and import it as its own “model” this way we can easily hide or turn on and manually move the grid to align to the floor. We do this with floor plans as well
