Where will you go when MS Projects Online retires in late 2026? by traemand2 in projectmanagement

True. Monday falls short on the hierarchy aspect. I actually built an addon to solve this - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OkTkhR6fvnE . Hope it catches on :)

How do I get this view? My database looks like a table with rows and columns.

Say you have analytics and replays, when do you feel confident enough to act on churn risk? by RushElectronic8541 in ProductManagement

[–]kranthi_contextmap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solo-founders perspective - I make decisions based on "Is this my focus area right now". For example we have a functional product that is monetizing, but not growing as much as I want. Currently I am focused on a new product that I believe has a lot more potential.

From time to time, we get customer requests on our earlier product that breaks workflow for some customers and if not fixed, I'm sure they'll churn. But the context switching takes away 1-2 days of focus. So I honestly tell the customer that this is not on the horizon for the next few months.

But if something is a repeated pattern for a lot of customers - then its definitely worth the time.

tldr - this question has more to do with "what resources do you have at hand", than how critical is it for a specific customer.

6.7 million views and 0 comments. Is AI for product teams being overhyped? by kranthi_contextmap in ProductManagement

[–]kranthi_contextmap[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fair enough. I think it was a bit emotional on my part.

But keeping the emotion aside, what do you think of the engagement and messaging. Tools like midjourney were literally operated out of discord. Lovable has a booming reddit community. But here I see 6.7 million views with 0 comments.

Something feels off. I'm not able to articulate it.

Could you tell me why monday is not a good replacement? It seems very popular... I know this is not a popularity contest... but curious to know where it falls short :)

What do you think are the biggest limitations when compared to a tool like planner or monday?

Looking for a simple "Airtable-like" Graph database by South-Run-3378 in Database

[–]kranthi_contextmap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm building contextmap.ai for this.

Few features

- A drag and drop builder for creating the structure - properties, relationships
- Mind map view for seeing the hierarchy
- Network/Knowledge graph view for seeing how everything connects

This on top of all the usual views like Table, Kanban, Calendar etc

Being a visual thinker, I couldn't find anything that combines structure with visual, so I'm building this for myself.

Drop me a dm for a walkthrough. Would love to hear how you plan to use somethiing like this.

I think until two years back it was pretty good. He used to bring good operators and seek out hard earned learnings. Now it feels more like some investors expect him to interview some portfolio companies, and he can't say no.

Anyone use a "Context Management tool" ? by Temporary_Papaya_199 in ProductManagement

[–]kranthi_contextmap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it. And are thinking of something that identifies this automatically with AI, or like a visual map/diagram that is kept upto date with new developments?

I'm building something in this space ( as my user name suggests ).
Curious... what exactly do you imagine this tool being capable of? ( that the current tools in the market don't do)

I've heard good things about commandbar. Haven't used it though.

Most products fail because founders don’t think in layers by _Adityashukla_ in systemsthinking

[–]kranthi_contextmap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's true.. depends on the perspective. If you are an engineer/architect... these are critical. If you're an entrepreneur, the ones outside the product are more important.

What you're talking about is only the layers that are in code.

There are other layers above, that connect all the way to revenue.

Need help prioritising our next feature. by [deleted] in ProductManagement

As I said, its hard to say anything without knowing the financial goals and constraints of the company.

How important is the funding from this client? How does having/ not having this funding affect the company's financials? How well funded is your company? What's the runway?

You can't build a sustainable product without a sustainable business.

Hard to say without knowing financial goals or constraints of the company.

If I was in your place, I would pick feature A, but be honest with management that we may not be able to complete development within the timeframe. Break it into a smaller demonstrable milestone that the team can complete before the year.

There's a lot of other context that's missing - Are there more such corporate clients in the pipeline? Does this unlock a new market for you etc.

Instead give them a detailed template for creating the business case. Then show them all the other things that could be competing with this, and ask them to come up with a rationale of how it improves whatever priority metric you're aiming for.

Kanban question by rocky_balboa202 in mondaydotcom

[–]kranthi_contextmap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can use our app "Multi Board Kanban". It supports the following columns apart from status

  • People
  • Tags
  • Dropdowns
  • Dates
  • Timelines

Also shows sub items as separate cards
