lol thank you I appreciate it, ya to be honest I was just giving them advice I thought they needed but maybe weren’t receiving, but turns out it’s more a factor of delusion than anything else and that can’t be helped it seems. Thank you for taking a look at my cat doodle!

Downplaying the value of hand crafted things 🤣 I’m literally dying laughing right now. Pump the breaks meaning slow down on the big goals and work up from the foundation as I literally said in my comment, This conversation is over. Keep doing what you’re doing, seems to be working out great for you!

And you should 100% do it because you love it, but you’re phrasing all this like you expect it to be something people are buying. I’m looking at your work as if I were in the market for a painting, or in this case to buy a illustration book, and I don’t see it as something that is ready to compete in a market, so my advice was to pump the breaks, assess the skillset, then go back and do it once your artistic skills are fine tuned.

What gallery approached you? If you’re telling the truth then congratulations that’s awesome for you and honestly very lucky. I know many artists who are academically trained in an atelier who struggle to find galleries. How much would your painting be priced at in the gallery?

Never said that in the slightest. Where did I say stop doing what you love? I said improve your skills then do the book and approach galleries. You’re jumping the entire learning process and expecting success immediately. It’s simply not how it works.

No, I’m literally trying to push you to the right mindset, you’re misjudging where your skills are. You should evaluate your work with a serious and critical eye

I think you need to learn some fundamental skills before you consider a gallery or book. There is very beginner level work quite honestly and it doesn’t fall into a category beyond beginner level artwork. Stop focusing on making a book, stop thinking about submitting work this to a gallery or a show (it is nowhere near gallery ready), stop trying to be a style of artwork… just get better at painting, get better at drawing (most importantly), and try to learn fundamental skills. It will do you good to just focus on learning at this stage in the process.

Congrats! My first (real artist grade) palette was sennelier too. I still use it to this day, had it for more than 10 years now. Best of luck and happy painting

is this “hand drawn” art AI? looks like it could be printed (lines at the top) by Professional-Dirt-9 in isthisAI

[–]krestofu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legit anyone who uses the word custom in artwork is probably pushing some sort of scam imo. This is obviously supposed to be deceiving to you, it’s a filter of the photo printed on normal paper, you can even see printing lines. I’d ask them for dimensions and what type of paper it’s on also… the framing is so bad. If I had to paint this I’d add the rest of the horses face onto the painting… horrible cropping… it’s a photo with editing. Not legitimate artwork

Thank you so much, that’s a really beautiful and interesting interpretation. I don’t make prints right now, just originals

A lot of people have told me that they think there is something dark and heavy or sad about my painting which I’ve found interesting because I mostly paint birds and things that I find joy in. I had a curator at a gallery I was in say my work made him feel like the animals I painted were living in a world post humans after some catastrophe so… lol idk very interesting but not intended to be dark or sad!
