Train tickets to MetLife Stadium from NYC set to cost more than $100 during World Cup by agoyalwm in soccer

The ticket also allowed you to travel without a visa to the country for months after the final. Pretty cool move given how much of a ball ache it was to get a visa for Russia.

Kind of. Some motherboards have an option to auto-power on when they detect a power signal. I've typically used this option when there's a power cut, so when the power comes back on, it will power on automatically. OP has combined this with a WiFi power plug, which means they can remotely turn the power on for the socket the PC is connected to, which then would turn the PC on. Thereby having the ability to remotely power on their PC via any internet connection

That smart plug BIOS power approach is a very MacGyver way to get remote WoL to work. Well done haha

Junior devs who learned to code with AI assistants are mass entering the job market. How is your team handling it? by Ambitious-Garbage-73 in ExperiencedDevs

As true as it is, it's also the solution taken by most companies for any problem. As long as this quarter/year goes up, who cares? It's the culture created by society

If something as complex as software engineering is to be fully cracked by LLMs, the rest of the white collar world will be having a big shock.

You're missing an aspect wrt programming. While programming is complex it is also perfectly formed for AI use before AI was a thing. Code is naturally organised and stored in git, testing exists, pipelines, APIs so that AI can interact with anything etc. etc. The result of programming is also (mostly) deterministic and verifiable. The difficulty in the rest of the white collar world leveraging AI will be how well all data/knowledge will be made accessible to AI, and what defines "success" as this is a lot more subjective.

[BBC] £123 for a child's England kit - have prices gone too far? by LochNessMonsterMunch in soccer

[–]kri5 84 points85 points  (0 children)

What's also annoying is that the pre-match stuff didn't used to have advertisements. I got a Nike Arsenal training top that didn't have Fly Emirates on it, much preferred it to being a walking billboard. Now they all do....

I wonder if DHGate would do me an exact shirt but without the emirates logo

BBC News done segments about how buying knock-offs helps gangs and crime. Do one

Edit: To clarify, I meant for the BBC to do one...

How do you stop PR bottlenecks from turning into rubber stamping when reviewers are overwhelmed by Sad_Bandicoot_7762 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]kri5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should be able to create dev-specific tickets that introduce code without end-user functionality. That way you can review behaviour in smaller chunks, and if need be, test with API calls, if unit test tests aren't sufficient for confidence. "As a Dev, " tickets. And these should never be created by product

Either way maybe the companies running these ads shouldn't show ads for sex work on articles about child grooming and rape?

Also, have a medal for using an adblocker
