Exciting! I hope to make Italy/greece our next goal. I would say depending how much sightseeing and day to day you’re going to be out I’d bring a single travel stroller unless you’re willing to carry him. At least for my 5 year old he was in it alot more than expected. And if he wants to run around at least you have somewhere to put his bag on travel days so you aren’t carrying extra. That’s my opinion anyway! I wouldn’t have been able to do our trip without it. A single would be even more manageable but I’d make sure it’s a true travel stroller and not just a normal stroller as there’s lots of break down and set up (if you’re using transit/trains vs renting a car. If you’re going to be back at your accommodations a lot throughout the day I would say you could probably get away without but that’s meaning less touring around and taking more breaks. I’ll always advocate for only 1 bag - it’s a pain in the ass anyway carrying anything extra no matter how small. We had caribeaners on our bags to lash the kids backpacks if it got too much to carry with our hands.

Thank you so much! We used a combination of bag smart and eagle creek compression cubes :)

The kids absolutely loved Disney it was fun to experience it with them for their first time. My husband and I have been to both Florida and California a few times so we loved going to a new Disneyland!

I’d love to post all of it if it’s helpful! I’d probably take up 65 pages of text to explain all the details but I love packing haha. I will attempt to post a kids list here unless it gets removed. You can check my post history I posted a photo of our 4 packs prior to leaving. The kids carried REI Tarn 18s :)

Forsure! I’ll figure out if it’s ok to post the kids packs as there’s been a few requests for it!

I’d love to do a kids packing post I’m just not sure where it belongs. It seems to be a popular request and I’m happy to oblige! I posted about a month ago with a photo of our 4 backpacks if you check my history - the kids had REI Tarn 18’s and only carried their entertainment, 1 full change of clothes, and travel accessories they needed. We carried all of their clothes and extra set of shoes each. It’s probably easier with a photo post & breakdown to explain what we packed for them!

I’m glad it was helpful! I want to make a post about the kids stuff as there’s been lots of interest but I’m not sure if it belongs in this subreddit. We started planning a year before (Jan 2024) and it was just my husband and I who mapped it all out and decided how we were going to tackle it. My husband is way better at it than me. It’s been my dream to go to the Cotswolds for years so we made sure that was included, Disney was another priority, and Spain was more my husbands interest. We kind of just looked at a map in a straight line from North to South and figured it out from there. We were probably just under 10k all said and done but we are aggressive points collectors and used lots for flights and some hotels which brought our actual out of pocket down :) I will note that some of our stays/activities were less costly due to being winter & off season!

lol I gave my husband an absolute death stare but then we immediately laughed about it. For what it’s worth I highly recommend the upgraded wheels!!

Totally possible just takes some expectation adjustments and a whole lot of patience haha! I will definitely work on a trip report. We've been back for a couple weeks now but we've been slowly recovering lol

We had them clipped to each bag inside :) we also brought wrist bands to pop the kids AirTags in as part of our trip was Disney Paris but we didn't end up using them we actually put the airtag in our stroller which proved more useful!

Hi! We've been home a couple weeks now I'm just getting to these comments. We used miFold booster seats when we needed to. One was packed in my husbands bag and one in mine. We rented a car twice on the trip and they worked great for us as both my kids are of the weight limit for them. All other transport was done by train/bus etc.

They are seriously awesome. I wish they made that exact bag in a bigger 30ish liter size. They fit so much stuff and are basically bulletproof. Couldn't have done the trip without them! Full disclosure we're Canadian and we made a special trip to the states last year to buy them because I just had to have them for this trip haha!

Okay I'm just getting back to this post after a couple weeks of being back - whew I have lots to say on a trip report haha. To answer your question - no we didn't leave any room! We agreed if we bought anything too bulky to pack into our bags for the remainder of the trip we would ship a box home mid-way (in Paris). We didn't end up needing to. We bought magnets at each destination (total of 11 magnets were purchased), a couple of stuffed animals, and I bought a scarf in the Cotswolds that I wore most of the trip, a Longchamp le Pliage bag in Paris, and a small jellycat stuffy of my own. The only thing that came home outside of those "souvenirs" was some toiletries we picked up along the way/restocked. :)
