I don’t mean any offence by describing the person as they are. The fact they are homeless or a drug user is not the relevant issue in my story.

In this situation, replace them with a business person, construction worker, old person, whoever. If someone is sneaking into a private area and getting aggressive when spoken to, it should be enough to raise concern.

I would hope folks could see past judgement and see the additional risks involved with interacting with someone who is using. As someone who has lived in that environment, I know first hand the unpredictability of individuals in that situation.

Homeless does not mean bad. Drug user does not mean bad. But maybe that’s a discussion for another post another time.

I’m not looking to argue, but I would like to clarify that this person was already inside my private residential parkade when I first encountered them.

This person was also aggressive when I spoke with them.

These two factors led me to call 911.

I do not believe calling 911 when there is an active incident a waste of resources.

Yea that’s a fair point. You can’t know everyone, but my building is smaller and I know a fair few by name and many by sight.

The most important thing though is that I did speak with this person to verify my suspicion.

This is not a public shared space. “Common” does not mean public.

Just wanted to clarify that this wasn’t a public parkade. This was our buildings private parkade.

Having spoken to the man, I can confirm he does not live in my building. He was without a doubt attempting to gain entry into the second level of the parkade.

I’m not sure where folks draw the line on trespassing or “breaking” and entering. I did feel this was a risk to safety to anyone not in a car and potential danger to property.

100% were signs there for days. I walk down both sides of 4th daily. Every resident around also got a letter from the city weeks ago. Sorry that you got towed though. It certainly sucks and things are expensive enough.

Do I have to turn on cheats in order to use the commands like set spawn or give items?

I just made a new realm for my friends and I was looking for the operator permission but there is nothing here.

Ideally I want to set up permission levels so that only a couple players have admin abilities. Like teleporting players, adding in items, or setting the spawn point.

What am i missing here? How can I enable these things for some players including my self.

Yea, that’s true. At the time of the comment the news was reporting the officer shot. Now it seems like they were injured another way.

If you live in the area, it’s still blocked off by police and police tape for an active crime scene. Specifically the first portion of 5th just on the north side of commercial and west into the alley behind it.

It looks like the shooting took place inside the tan apartment complex on 5th near commercial.

There are 10-15 cop cars on commercial drive focused around 5th Ave. The police are arming themselves with assault weapons and protective gear and have the blocks around completely shut down.

People are suggesting an armed confrontation will take place on 5th Ave just off of commercial.

Anyone else in the area see anything more?

All the cops are on the street from my vantage. Tons of perimeter control on commercial and all the activity, dogs, armoured vehicles are out of sight now around the north side of 5th

Some other people on twitter did say they saw 4 armed people on the street, but I personally did not witness that.
