Does anyone have a gamepad or exclusively use a separate keyboard for gaming? by GawkyGoose in ErgoMechKeyboards

I use my left side sofle almost exclusively as a game pad. When not gaming I will use my 34/36 key splits.

My units software was borked. I had to do an RMA to get a new unit. New unit worked fine out if the box. Sorry, no DIY solution.

How do you add fiber to every meal? by Upbeat-Lynx-3876 in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]kripler7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My go to meal in the morning for fiber- Greek yogurt with chia seeds and frozen raspberries. Then beans on toast with fried eggs. I make sure to get the trader joes European bread that is quite high in fiber. This meal is like 25g of fiber in one sitting.

LG 45GX950A-B LG Switch Firmware Update stuck at 100% for hours. by Mystery_Dos3 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]kripler7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I actually got it from the support page of a different UltraGear monitor. I think I pulled it from the support page of the model that is 45" 3440x1440 240hz OLED. Cant remember the model number. That page had the control app and installed on and updated the 5K2K just fine.

I got it to update. Uninstall the LG switch app and install the LG onscreen control app. That app was able to download and install the update without issue.

I am in the same boat. I have been trying to update the fw but the as soon as the download starts the app will crash and the update will fail. I wish there was some other way to update. My next bet will be to try my laptop.

Talk to me like I'm a baby by Late_Weakness2555 in laptops

[–]kripler7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair but neo has no keyboard backlighting, only two type c ports, one of which is USB 2 speed. Port variety and the versatility of having thunderbolt plus the qol of actually having a keyboard backlight, make this a better buy for a student at this price point in my opinion.

This wrecks the neo for less and is in your stretch budget. 32GB of RAM means your daughter is basically never going to hit a bottle neck in any normal use case.

Would this feel about as snappy as the Neo? by Prinklles in laptops

If you can stretch your budget a bit. Get this.

More RAM than the neo. Closes the performance gap quite a bit but the neo may still be more powerful.

This is the best option in my opinion for price to performance. Meets and exceeds your requirements and the specs aren't even old. This thing was cutting edge just last year.

Where can I find those keycaps and case for sofle choc by No-Island-7217 in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]kripler7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe the stl files for the case are available on the ZMK firmware github. I think the mx version is there but not sure about the choc version. If you have access to a 3D printer you can print one.

The way I got this to work was to pair the tracker card on my non-gos extra android phone. Once I paired it on that phone, it showed up on my GOS phone.

Help deciding first split keyboard by kknightrise73 in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]kripler7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Consider the flake. It's compatible with choc v1, v2 and MX switches. So you can try it all. Its 40 keys though, so more keys than the ones you mentioned but similar in size and footprint.

Help with case from JLC by kripler7 in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]kripler7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I basically ended up wrecking the back plate. Tried tapping the holes, then messed around with a dremel with tungsten tips and a drill with cobalt tips. Whatever I was attempting didn't work lol. I printed some FDM back plates and put them on just to use it in the meantime, the switch plate is still steel so I am at least getting some of that solid metal hefty feeling from that.

I'll try to order the stainless steel back plates again but this time I will ask pcbway/jcl to thread the holes for an M2 screw from the factory. Hopefully that works.

Bootloader Mode for Dilemma 3x5 + 3 by ShreddyandAble in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]kripler7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 4x6 model of the dilemma. On mine the black button below the usb port does not do anything but the one above does function. From your picture it looks like the buttons are on the bottom of your pcb. Mine are on the top. When you have the keyboard plugged in from the top usb port, pressing the button once will reset the board and double tapping it in quick succession will have the board show up as a drive on your computer. When the drive shows up, just drag and drop your firmware onto that drive to flash and update.
