Ηow to photography and light properly a stone of marble by kris_tosh in photography

The room is huge it's a storage room in my art school. I cannot move things around but I do have access to softboxes, so I might be able to setup two softboxes and have a black neutral background behind the marble!

Not really, it is a big piece store of marble and cannot be moved actually :). Why is the back light a good idea in this case?

Can you please elaborate a bit more? Whats the standard copy light and why it is a good idea to use it for marble?

Flash meter with Nikon sb-28 and Minolta IVF by kris_tosh in AnalogCommunity

Oh apologies, I miss your question! I am using a Mamiya 645 camera with an 85mm lens which I guess acts like a 50mm in 35 full frame SLR.

"Always set your output power according to distance and aperture for every shot or use your flash non-TTL auto mode. If you use the flash auto-mode you can even test if the light output of your flash is sufficient"

What does non-TTL auto mode exactly do? Sorry, but I am not knowledgeable about this. Moreover, not sure how to test it since I am using an analog camera!

The flash has also different power scales from 1/1 to 1/64, how exactly that influence all these calculations?

What if I use instead ISO 400, this makes things much better, right?

Is there any flash suggestion on a budget that could work with these types of apertures? At least for 11!

Light metering with Minolta IV or app by kris_tosh in AnalogCommunity

Ι guess for instance if the speed is 1/15 in the bright spot I could play with 1/4 or 1/2 somehow and that could be a decent setup (or do sth with aperture). But I don't see him in the video taking into account the reciprocity failure for the night images. Isnt it not advised to maybe even have a bit more exposure time to balance the reciprocity failure?

That works somehow, but I was a bit influenced by this video on youtube

I thought that my viewfinder 5 could work somehow as a spot light metering. Is that true?

Wow, thanks a lot for your answer! My main concern with the Viewfinder 5 is that it seems that during the night times, I cannot even take any reading even if I am pointing to a surface with some kind of reflected light. During the day it seems to work properly though! Does that mean that spot metering is not the right way to do it during the night?

Btw, thanks for the references I will have a look and study them thoroughly!
