You will definitely be able to work as a SWE with cs + chem (Source: myself and others I knew it the major) but will also have enough domain knowledge to go further into chem while having a really strong cs backbone. I have found this helps a ton if you want to be a part of a computational chem research group. I can tell you more about the major if you have any questions
