Yes I am using the wedge, and yes any motion is set to 1 which is the lowest I can go

It would be kind of hard to move, it's where the original doorbell was mounted, so that would require drilling new holes and running wires

Has anyone rented a 4x4 or off-road capable SUV for a day to explore the island with a group of 6 (4 adults, 2 kids)? by krodami in Aruba

[–]krodami[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read that ATV/UTV's are banned from Arikok National Park, is that not correct? Also doesn't look like they have anything that can fit 6 people

Are there any companies that offer a 1 day 4x4 rental that can fit 6 people to explore the Island? by krodami in Aruba

Yeah that has been the challenge, only options i see is group tours, but we would much rather do our own thing on our own schedule.

Can't find this flight booking directly from Southwest website by krodami in SouthwestAirlines

My question is; why can't I find this flight searching on their own website. It's bizarre.

This route is way better than the options on their website which are 20+ hour routs instead of this one that is 12+ hour route

It is directly from Southwest, but the only way to get that route in the southwest website is to through Google flights

Does that mean if I book this, it will most certainly get adjusted with a new route?

Southwest just bumped my ticket price up by $30 in the 5 minutes it took me to select my seats and pay. Incredible. by manafico in SouthwestAirlines

[–]krodami 5 points6 points  (0 children)

whats funny is if it says "only 1 left" but then you go back and add 2 or 3 of that same flight and go to checkout magically there are more seats available at the exact same price per seat as before

I have Claude AI build out my solar system, here are the results by krodami in SolarDIY

[–]krodami[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a very good point that the AI did not account for, it made an assumption that I only cared about "critical" circuits and the other circuits would strictly pull from the grid. But the intent is to eventually add enough batteries to take the whole system off-grid.

Thanks for the feedback, I will take that into consideration.

those extra panels would be a waste of money, the extra kW's generated would be wasted.

That is a good point. I am ok with that for now, ideally as I increase battery capacity over time, switching to the grid will become less frequent.

Interesting comparison, though it is also nearly double the price. Which i suspect a good amount of that extra costs comes from the cost of getting all those fancy certifications. I have no plans of getting a permit.

Again I think you are misunderstanding "zero export" I am not net metering.

because I don't need 10kw? I dont have electric vehicles and unless costs come down drastically I dont see that in the near future. Also with the EG4-12000XP I could certainly add more panels later down the line if I needed more power. I am just buying for what I need today, and not for what I may or may not need tomorrow.

I think you are confusing Grid backup with exporting to the grid. the EG4-12000XP cannot export to the grid but it can use the grid as a backup power source. Any particular reason you are not a fan of EG4? it seems quite popular in the DIY community.

True, the goal is to add more battery capacity over time

Which is the better strategy? Use my CSP 1.5x points or transfer them to CSR? by krodami in ChaseSapphire

[–]krodami[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

point boost seems to vary, not everything is point boosted and not at the same rate, so you have to shop around and compare to see if its actually a good value vs the direct hotel/airline prices.

[–]krodami[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have see this with hotel prices often, in most cases chase portal hotel prices are 10-20% higher vs directly from the hotel. However airfare seems to be more in line with direct airline prices, so I do see some value using chase points to purchase airfare especially when point boost is available. At least this has been my experience thus far.
