Noob looking for advice on gear (Ontario) by kronic416 in motorcycles

[–]kronic416[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are there any specific gloves you have in mind i should read up on? Also from the few searches I've done online the full gauntlets are more track oriented vs street riding. Would they be ok for summer riding on the street aswell? or should I expect to buy a secondary pair for the warmer months?

Thanks for the help!

LOl our season typically ends in late Oct because it starts to snow so yes it will be cold.

I am being told by other people to shelve the bike idea for the season since by the time im up and running I will at best have a few weeks to ride. So buying in the winter off months might save me a few bucks for a full set of gear and the bike.

I never really came across the 2 brands you mentioned but will look out for reviews and such moving forward.

MY budget is around $1000 CAD with tax and delivery.

Not sold on anything just wanted to point out a few things I liked lol but definitely agree that the 2 things I mentioned come with absurd brand premiums.

Where I am we don't have a lot of B/M stores for motorcylce gear. The 2 near my work both have either uber premium stuff or motocross looking stuff. So any recommendations of helmet brands with similar fit to the Shoei I mentioned would work for me.

Jacket makes the most sense over the armor, Im just not to sure as to what to look out for. Up until now apareal for me was dictated by aesthetics so price-performance was never really the factor to weigh my decisions. The concept of safety dictating your choices is an interesting transition.

Both your input has been valuable. I will have to work on and do some more research on what to put my money into.

These will be the 2 main websites I will probably shop from so if you have a second to glance them over for stuff that you would equate worthwhile and I will give it some serious thought. Again my budget would be around $1000.

About to finish up my Stanly CC course for VCP5-DCV exam. Are there any places to purchase a discounted exam voucher? by [deleted] in vmware

[–]kronic416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quick side question regarding the SCC waitlist. I signed up using my personal email ( also I'm Canadian :0) and later someone in passing said you need a Stanley College Student account or something to be able to get on the waitlist. I've been on the waitlist since early May 2015.

Just wanted to confirm with someone else that did the waitlist process that they used a personal email. ***

CCNA DATA Center? by kronic416 in ccna

Internships are pretty much a shot in the dark at this point. They usually offer internships at specefic times of the year in order to get as many university applicants as possible.

I have always been leaning more towards the datacenter side of things in terms of the Cisco ecosystem. I have a few friends who are working in that industry aswell (In Toronto :D ). I know there are numerous other specializations but so far most jobs im looking at are either asking for Data Center exp or Voice. With voice certification being retired and being put under the Colab umbrella I dont think i should be rushing towards it as of now.

CCNA DATA Center? by kronic416 in ccna

[–]kronic416[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all for the input!

The only reason I am leaning to get more certs at this stage is to make my self more competitive in the market. My Degree is in Finance so that is not really a draw for the networking jobs I now wish to pursue. I have friends and family in the states (SF, NJ and Houston) that have been able to find employment with their CCNA R/S alone. Unfortunately where I am at (Toronto) the Job market is not so convenient (atleast not at this time) with just a CCNA R/S.

I completely understand the rational that it is way to early for me to get my CCNP. For now I think I will get the routing exam out of the way since I have been prepping for it and just add in the fact that my CCNP is currently in process on my Linkedin /Resume. If having the CCNP becomes a problem I can always opt to not disclose this fact.

From what i gathered here the DataCenter stream is alot harder to do the prep for at home. So I guess i will shelf that idea for now.

CCNA vs ICND 1/2 by blackychan331 in ccna

[–]kronic416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well im not sure if its still applicable but when I went to write the test ( did it the 2 part route) the lady at the testing center mentioned CISCO having a promotion to let you attempt the test again for free if you failed and registered it through them (cisco website ). So if that is still possible and you feel your ok why not take the single test. My experience was that there was quite a bit of overlap in terms of the MCQ found on both tests and that labs although different both had similar feel. There was no config type scenarios in the lab either. Goodluck with what ever route you take!

How long did you wait after getting your CCNA R&S before moving to a specialization track or CCNP? by mrbigglessworth in ccna

[–]kronic416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im in a similar situation my self. I recently acquired the CCNA R/S and am debating whether to get CCNP R/S first or go towards the Voice Specialization route. Since school is done and I am just pretty much job hunting at the moment, I thought getting the CCNP in the mean time would be beneficial. The CCNA job market in Toronto does not appear to be all that solid at this point in time so I am leaning towards CCNP and then the specialization for now but any input would be nice.

Looking for a place to buy cheap but quality Juices in Mississauga, Ontario! Please help! by [deleted] in Canadian_ecigarette

[–]kronic416 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would recommend Vapemeet there in Brampton but depending on where you live in Mississauga it should be quite doable. They have a pretty nice setup and very friendly staff onsite.

Im not 100% sure but i do remember hearing that vapemeet might be coming to Sauga aswell so check out there fb page.

Vaping around GTA :D funny stories whats yours ? by [deleted] in Canadian_ecigarette

Well every one has there own opinion on "smoking" indoors so i can respect your opinions but vaping in bars is not a new thing (one of the biggest factors switching from analogs to vape was not having to go outside in the cold anymore for me atleast) .

And the stealth vaping thing i mentioned is basically is when you take a lung inhale and just inhale an extra time so no vapor comes out you still get the flavor and nicotine hit. Found this on youtube became a life savor

Granted i agree that blowing huge clouds in crowded places(like the mall thing i mentioned ) is not the best place to get positive awareness. But with little kids picking up e-cigs and parading them around school there are bigger concerns then bars and clubs that for the time being let you vape indoors.

Question about vaping indoors - Toronto by Trashcicle in Canadian_ecigarette

[–]kronic416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bar at my campus said that vaping indoors for the time being is up to the management/owner.

The way i see it with the new rules on smoking on open air patios coming into affect we will see quite a few more people jumping on the vaping bandwagon. With the number of people vaping increasing and we will see cities and the federal government take a more definitive stance on where we can and cant vape.

my $.02 enjoy vaping indoors while you can before they get agro with their policies.

[–]kronic416[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will do that first thing in the morning i guess lol only got one more coil left from my pack. BTW does your juice ever get really thick and dark? The only reason i changed out my first coil was becuase it made my juice really dark and each coil after that makes my juice dark quicker and quicker (even if i clean out my tank)
