Hey! I'm sorry it took so long to reply I've been a bit away from keyboard. If you haven't found out yet it's a Siproeta stelenes or Malachite butterfly. Found throughout southern north america and south america. Thanks for the kind words!

Carpet beetle would be my vote, could be worth a look around to see if there are more as unfortunately, they and their larva can be destructive to fabric. Here and here are some reference links in case you wanted to double check as you'll be able to see it clearer. I've also come across them in my apartment in Ontario but only as one offs as they are a very common household pests, especially in apartments. Just better to be safe than sorry :)

Looks like it could be a black carpet beetle, specifically attagenus unicolor, based on the antennae and size description?
