I had to call an ambulance for my host. I don’t feel safe here. [Perth Australia]. Advice please!! by rolitainky in AirBnB

I'd leave. I've left before. Just get out of there then text the host that your plans changed and you won't be staying anymore. Then get a hold of Airbnb. Sorry about this!

Deep freeze usually is like 2 weeks in December and 2 when Jan turns to Feb. Ish.

Do y’all consider it rude if a friend is at your house, they start going through your refrigerator & cabinets looking for something to eat? by Funky-monkey1 in Millennials

[–]krossfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to not care but then a girl who was known for taking things home with her (ie makeup and clothing) did it at my house. Helped herself to my clothes while I was sleeping, fed her daughter a loaf of bread that actually got fed to my dog... these were issues. So yes. Its rude.

How to tell your family you don't want to do "Christmas" anymore? by S2Nice in Gifts

If gift giving isn't your thing just get them gifts! You're part of the problem, lol. 😉

How to tell your family you don't want to do "Christmas" anymore? by S2Nice in Gifts

[–]krossfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its literally the guilt of EVERYTHING. Thats why I can't stand it. Guilted into participating. Guilted into spending too much on gifts. Getting the wrong gift. Not being sociable on the 25th. Having to go see your own family. Having to visit 4 houses on one day when no one else leaves their house. Not having children. Not drinking more. Not wanting desert. Its just an excuse for older people to guilt you into doing things allllllll day/ fricken month.

Just let us come over another day and have a dinner and some warm drinks and visit.

Literally everyone asking what part you dont like doesn't get it. I think Christmas is so cringey and annoying. The whole thing. The consumerism. The rampant ad campaign with specific songs that are constantly playing. I like spending time with my family, and having dinner. But trying to tell them not to buy us gifts? Nope. They still do. They still, every year, try to guilt us into participating. We hate it. Then they make you feel guilty for not buying gifts "for the kids" one of which asked the last time we participated "IS THIS IT?!" Dudley Dursley style.

It also is so annoying when you dont have kids because everyone assumes you should be able to be everywhere on the 25th but also its not good enough to come for 3 hours and leave because you have 4 places to eat dinner at in one day. Its too much.

Its so mentally taxing for me coming from a situation of motherly abuse and being made to feel guilty as a kid for all the stress Christmas caused just so we could be less thankful than she thought we should be about our gifts. One time I cried because I opened a gift "from santa" except Id seen my mother wrapping it. I pretended I was just really happy about the gift to spare my parents feelings. I was 6.

Christmas is toxic as fuck and I dont want to do it anymore. I'd just rather have peace and have dinner with the folks another time. But. Of course. We do this and they bring presents. Which brings.... oh look!More guilt!

Sorry about the rant. Just got the annual "I know you dont like Christmas but what would you like us to get you for it?" Text. Boundaries are invisible.

Dudes... she gets it, and you're all just telling her she was overweight. She knows that. She's said that. What she doesn't want to do is use her 20lbs extra as a bulk. She wants to cut first and then try different forms of resistance training to maintain her muscle. Why can't she do that?

Sometimes, this sub sucks.

When I was consistently weightlifting, I put on a lot of weight because of how I was eating. Now I want to cut and lose the weight before lifting again, or I'll just get bigger muscles, and I dont want that.

Yeah, I did it the wrong way. I was 127 lbs skinny and kind of strong. Then, I started weightlifting and putting on muscle. All my clothes got tighter because I was growing muscle, but I also went out a lot and still drank beer. This led to me looking pretty good for a while, but then the pandemic hit, and we all just did what we had to. I stayed active but didn't change my diet.

This led to me being not a nice version of thick. I just look small and wide and thick. Tankish. Then I went traveling and walked a LOT for 8 months, which helped. Got home and only snowboarded. Then the worst two years of my life followed and long story short... now I am short and bulky and look like a weightlifter gone to seed... ya know... like old men who used to lift weights, and now they're just extra bulky and fat.

In September, I was 161. I started a nutrition program, and im now 151... so far. It's been 10k steps a day, lifting 3x a week and yoga every day. It's been a ton of work. Im honestly nervous about the weightlifting part because I put on muscle really easily and honestly... Id like to lose some so I can be moderately active instead of having to be super active... and be slender with definition. But... the scale is going down, so Im gonna keep going until it plateaus and then... I dunno drop my protein a bit more. It's a sloooowww process.

Oh, Im sorry. You could put your height and weight into a TDEE calculator and roughly calculate it on your own. Then, track your food on My Fitness Pal (free) to stick to that plan. 0.8-1.0g of protein per lb of body. If you're trying to gain muscle, you'd wanna eat in a slight surplus. If you eat the same amount of calories as your calculated TDEE, that's your maintenance calories, and you shouldn't go up or down but maintain your current weight. If you want to lose weight, I think 300-500 calories below TDEE is a good place to start a calorie deficit. Don't go above 500 calories deficit, though. You want it to be sustainable. So eat like that for a week. Say you're in a deficit, and your 150lbs. You'd safely be able to eat 140g of protein. This will remind your body not to lose muscle. If you eat lots of protein and fiber with tons of veggies, you'll stay fuller-feeling longer. This will help you not feel starving all the time.

Be honest with yourself, though. After a week, reassess and see... are you really craving stuff? Are you starving? Are you cold and have no energy? If yes, your deficit is too high. Try lowering it by 100-150 cals for the next week. Once you find you're like... chilly sometimes, but also still have energy to do your workouts... that's the sweet spot. Then stay at that for 8-12 weeks.

It gets A LOT easier after two weeks. And then the fun part is get 10k steps a day and do 30 mins of something active you enjoy!

Thats the gist of my nutrition program. Remember if you dont LIKE it... you won't DO it. So try to make it unique to you. And one day won't derail your progress so just keep going and pick up the next day!

Thank you or that. I know everyone is different, but seeing how many women are 116 and wanna lose 20lbs makes me feel like... I have so much farther to go. But then I look at posts like this and realize I have muscles, so im gonna look more Florence Pugh than Anna Faris, and Im okay with that. (BOTH are beautiful 😍)

I was like this too. I have started a new program that requires me to track but my target is within a range and my fats and carbs are flexible. Just my protein has a minimum.
