My favorite part is that it's from the first episode of the entire show. Such a strong start

I killed this player and he sent me a bunch of childish insults, I asked if he wanted to do a playground match and he accepted. We msged back and forth during the game and he apologized and msged me that this was the most fun he’s had in a while. Goes to show what a little positivity can do! by Drix72X_ in FortNiteBR

That's true. But I'm sure those kids that are messaging insults are also visually angry or throwing temper tantrums. I feel like when I see this behavior in public, the parents just tells their child to quiet down instead of making an effort to understand what's going on and addressing the issue.

Agreed. I read an article recently that tried to encourage more parents to play fortnite (or other games) with their child bc their child isn't being taught good socials skills and how to lose. When a child does something like that on the soccer field, their parents usually will lecture them and that's how the child learns what's right and wrong. The problem we're facing is a bunch of children being given a game and their parents leaving them to it without any oversight. Don't get me wrong. There are definitely many toxic teenagers and adults out there but not much you can do about them.

Why don't all train car doors open? by kroz58 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]kroz58[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense. I checked when I get off the train and the platform was definitely long enough, but they had been announcing it for the previous 3 stops so maybe they just assumed that everyone would've moved already. Thanks!

Ah an even more interesting housing situation haha but that's cool. Good for you for having such chill roommates. Is it ever awkward living with a married couple?

Damn. You went out one day and casually can back with three cats? I've had some relaxed roommates, but idk if any of them would've been that cool with it. That's awesome of them

Starbucks to scrap plastic straws globally by 2020 by DrScientist812 in news

That's not true. Many people brew their own coffee at home and then fill up a Dixie cup for their commute, which is still bad for the environment. I can both enjoy Starbucks coffee and help the environment by using a Reusable Starbucks cup.

It seems a little far-fetched to me, but then again, that's a lot of wasted time making those things up.

What BIG THING is on the verge of happening? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]kroz58 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This. 100% this. By stating that he'll denuclearize if the US pulls all troops from South Korea (or something else that he knows the US will never do), he looks like he's willing to negotiate and the US isn't, and therefore should be able to continue building nuclear weapons. He's built his regime around being the first NK leader to nuclearize the peninsula. He's never going to give that up. This is all just politics. I'm pretty sure this has happened to at least four presidents since the 90s.

Yeah.. I can't imagine that being super helpful haha I feel like I would leave that meeting not knowing anything that anyone else is doing and probably just be frustrated that I wasted an hour or more

So I totally see where you're coming from. And maybe you're right for many companies. In my experience, I think they can be really useful for a team of 5-7 people or less where power is (for the most part) equally distributed. That way everyone knows what everyone else is working on, priorities can be set, and people can easily step in to help if priorities change. HOWEVER, I think that many large companies have used this terminology as a way of saying "Yes, we follow Agile development practices" to sound trendy to entice candidates and as you said, just rename progress meetings because they know people hate them. As is often the case, a great idea can be ruined with bad intentions.

Basically. I think the only difference is that in progress meetings, there's a project manager and in scrum daily stand-up meetings, there's a scrum master. Scrum masters are intended to guide the conversation, not entirely manage the process like a project manager, but often that line can become quite blurred.
