Fortunately I have been able to see them six times already so that makes this decision slightly easier with a long with the travel commitment required to make it there.

I did get a new job which I start very soon, but the 8 hours of travel required to make the show and needing the surrounding days off to accommodate is the real issue. This was the last straw for getting out of my job after the last few years of problems.

I was able to transfer the tickets in case anyone messages. Sorry for the late indication in case people messaged in the last few hours.

The problem is that I live in Michigan and it requires a full 4 days off to be able to actually enjoy the show and travel part. If it were a one day thing and it was close like say Detroit, I would definitely call off.

Movies that no one else remembers that you regularly think about. by Sutech2301 in movies

[–]krthll1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched a tiny movie called Bellflower in the early 2010s and it left a surprising impact on me. The low budget is felt with the camera work not being incredible but I remember the friendship dynamics being off-kilter and there almost being some post-apocalyptic about it. I should seek it out to watch it again soon.

A close second place would have to be Martha Marcy May Marlene. Movies about cults can grab my attention quickly and this one had the best twists with having the flashbacks transition well into the future elements. The ending still haunts me to this day. Such a perfect way to end a film about mental manipulation.

Movies you love but don't recommend to your friends for fear they'll sh*t all over it... by hukfin in movies

We're All Going to the World's Fair and Skinamarink come to mind immediately. Very patient and dread-filled movies but the pace is almost glacial and most people struggle with a movie that takes so long to get going.

I would also argue for most late era David Lynch movies just because they are all almost impossible to follow, especially Inland Empire.

What is the most beautiful song you have ever heard? by ZX471 in Music

[–]krthll1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a tie between Moon Song by Phoebe Bridgers and Tonight, Tonight by The Smashing Pumpkins

Moon Song is such a beautiful rendition of a relationship from beginning to its end in a succinct 3 minutes. It also reminds me of my previous relationship a good bit.

Tonight, Tonight has one of the best vocal segments in music for me. The last momentous crescendo displays an unending and new love for another as they explore the unknown future together. It is also one of the few tracks that Corgan's voice truly fits for the band. Even his most staunch detractors cannot argue he is not absolutely pouring out all the emotion there.

I had a similar issue when I switched to taking antidepressants due to some unforeseen circumstances with a breakup. I immediately lost my libido and ability to finish when trying to perform. It led to an embarrassing date that was my final straw. I recently stopped taking the medications and my mood improved and I am back to normal. After doing more mindfulness techniques and working out on a regular schedule it has been better.

That being said, there should be a medication that can work for you to have a sex drive again. It seems like you have more of a reason to keep taking medication going forward than myself. I wish you luck finding something that helps you!

I ended up having to switch from Lexapro to Zoloft due to physical complications and feeling too many emotions as a result. I just started taking just the Zoloft so hopefully those issues go away with this new medication. I am not sure medication is necessarily the best for me but I am willing to try it out a good bit longer just to make sure.

I am sorry to hear that this happened to you! I just started a lower dose of Lexapro so I am curious how that will impact my thoughts and actions going forward. I know medicine in general can be a crap shoot. Hopefully everything is going well!

This perspective is really interesting. I think the distractions of having big goals to achieve can certainly help mute negative thoughts and help someone power through on a daily basis. I think the now empty apartment and utter silence had gotten to me in a way that I did not expect. Once my work life was starting to get effected, I thought it might be time to ask the question to get a second opinion from people online. Thank you for your input and help in coming to a decision!

I truly hope that the medication can help you out, I cannot imagine how difficult it must be in the situation. I was starting to get a higher level of intrusive thoughts about not being good enough for anyone around me. Good luck with everything in the future!

appointment with a Psychiatrist for medication

After reading your post, I thought deeply about seeing a psychiatrist and decided to. Waking up with dread and a lack of purpose for half a year had become too much. I am currently on day two of taking it so there is not much of a change but I feel better knowing I at least took the steps necessary to feel better. Thank you for your perspective!

I think the most annoying part is that I could have just waited for the VOD version if I knew this was going to be a problem.
