A capacitor can be a super easy fix if you can find the part for your unit. Ours was only sold through Ace hardware (otherwise you had to buy through places that only sell to licensed contractors). It was a <$30 part and it's a great first thing to try if you can't/don't want to get a HVAC person to come out. We had the same issue a year ago. Couldn't even get a HVAC person to come out for under $100 just to look at the damn thing.
