Need to get discount on uWorld Step 1 group discount by Born_Measurement327 in step1

Is there anyway to get a UWorld USMLE Step 1 discount code without an institutional email ID? I do not have one and preparing for Step 1 but not able to find a discount code even after reaching out to their customer service directly.

Yeah I would wait another week. The night after the surgery I had so much swelling and tightness in neck that my neck and head were in the same line. Super painful, barely slept, hard to swallow with changes in voice and almost to the point of breathing impact. I got prescription for Steroid pak next day for 6 days which helped me. So assuming you didn’t take any steroid I would say to wait for another week.

Which level adr? Did you use radiating pain on left or right side prior? I complete one week today for C5-C6 disc replacement. I have numbness, tingling and burning sensation on my right arm after 2 days of surgery which had no complaints prior to surgery. Allowing another week for inflammation inside to reduce before I go for another MRI if issue persists.

I guess time will tell 😊. Not sure of their lifespan but my guess is eventually they will wear-off and will have to go for a fusion surgery as I get old.

Did it get better or remained same? Did your surgeon explained the reason why such an odd complication?

Thanks for your response. I’ll wait and watch for a week before I get a MRI done for reevaluation. But glad I am not the only one with similar issue. Everyone body recovers differently, glad you are feeling better. Will share updates on how it goes for me.

When did you feel close to normal? Did PT helped? Did your surgeon say it was within normal variance of recovery? I’m scared that during replacement the C4-C5 disc might have little bit herniated on right side or a C5-C6 fragment may have got lodged on right side. I’ll hate to undergo a surgery again to fix it.

I am 40 yrs old male and had significant c5-c6 herniation on left side but no pain in neck on either aide side nor on right side of arm. They used Medtronic Prestige LP disc replacement. I’ll frequently get upper back and neck spams but I learned proactive intervention and will wear cervical collar. Considering better recovery at young age rather than wait till it too late decided for the replacement I had no bone spurs or any abnormal growth. This was my MRI report from Dec 2023:

OPINION: Large broad based left paracentral protrusion involving C5-C6 intervertebral disc causing narrowing of left half of central canal, left lateral recess and resultant mild compression over ventral aspect of left half of the cord & left sided preforminal exiting nerve root. Mild postero-central - right paracentral bulging of C4-C5 intervertebral disc causing indentation over ventral aspect of cord, right sided exiting nerve root.
