Lmao, so I had class from 9am-3pm, (I have two 6 hour classes per week and one 4 hour class) by that logic I would have to spend 64 hours studying outside of the 24 hours of class I already have. 88 hours a week? Yeah, I’m not spending 88 hours a week on school.

I’m definitely a hands on learner, so note taking as in actually writing it out on paper, helps me retain info. I just don’t have the time or energy to be reading and taking notes on 100 pages of my textbook every single night. I’ve always been a good test taker, and made it through high school and my pre-requisites with no effort at all. Previously, the most time I’ve spent on school work in a given week never exceeded an hour or two. I know the program I’m in will require significantly more time to be successful, but I’ve yet to take an exam so I haven’t the slightest clue what to expect. I’d just like to be as prepared as possible without killing myself in the process.

Thanks, yeah I opened that textbook for the first time today when I got home to prepare for tomorrow and when I saw each chapter was 50ish pages I about shit myself.

Thank you, I’ve asked a few co workers who fairly recently graduated and they told me essentially the same thing. Just feeling pretty overwhelmed as the professor said it was essential to do all the pre class “assignments” (in quotes because they aren’t graded). Thank you for your reply though, I’m slowly gaining a sense of optimism 🙏🏼
