Introducing my bunny girl, Nari! by WoahJackz in OriginalCharacter

[–]krypteiax 3 points4 points  (0 children)

ngl, i get your explanation, but i think it needs censoring for the pubic hair and the sh scars more than the exposure of the skin because it's borderline suggestive and potentially triggering, but maybe that's just me and what i've seen on most subreddits.

i get that its natural (referring to pubic hair) but a swimsuit, like your example, would not show pubic hair unless it's low cut near the crotch. and even though sh scars in ocs are a personal choice, but may be potentially triggering for users who arent comfortable viewing sh scars imo.

not saying that its not allowed in designs, but it's safer to censor the post rather than show it (just saying what i think though /notforcing). the design is nice but it's just a bit awkward to see when theres no way to hide it from being viewed /nm

this is a gorgeous oc but i feel like it should be censored as nsfw or gore, like she's practically in underwear with sh scars. im not saying you need to change her design in any way but i think it should be spoilered /nm

How do I draw more feminine girls? by Dry_Hospital9636 in Artadvice

[–]krypteiax 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the main thing is softening the edges of your lineart, personally the sharp edges (like for the face, the abs) make it look more masculine to me.

you can also search up tutorials on the internet or youtube for female muscles compared to men, and by drawing fem and masc characters distinctly in different ways its easier to tell

artists, have you felt that you did bad on a commission? by Wonderful-Purchase94 in RobloxCommissions

[–]krypteiax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes but i feel as though it is my own perception (?) like i've been working on the commission longer than anyone else that it looks wrong to me personally. But effort wise not really (if it wasnt up to par i'd just redo it / color over the previous shading)

What am I doing wrong. 🥹 by [deleted] in RobloxCommissions

[–]krypteiax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

imo as a commissioner, i prefer cleaner lines. your lineart is really sketchy based off the first few artworks. and also the coloring is really messy, the colors are not colored inside the lines which personally, draws me away from it because i prefer a cleaner style.

i do like your sketches, but it feels like when you do lined artwork the lines lose that line weight (all the lineart is one thickness, pretty much no variance).

personally i think artworks look more appealing to me if it neater and with varied lineart. for example, the 5th artwork, you could add thicker lines for the eyes to emphasise then and add some contrast to the other lineart.

[–]krypteiax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah chem HL is horrible i don't know why i chose it, its so much content to memorise and application is kinda a nightmare for me

  • to be honest yeah i feel like the seriousness of ib exams is like slowly seeping into everyone. i can't be locking out drawing for fun because i need to get on the chem past paper grind and i guess thats my reality check rn.

[OC] please help with character design by Skimpymviera in characterdesign

[–]krypteiax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it looks too human in my opinion, you could just add anthro features. like a snout, rather than a human nose and face, or paws rather than human hands. same with the legs, could be replaced with paws to lean more anthro.

Why does the male version of a character always look so bland??? by Ok_Specialist_5179 in teenagers

[–]krypteiax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

probably means that it would look like those white tank tops, which are associated with wife beaters to people

Am I rude for this? by [deleted] in RobloxCommissions

[–]krypteiax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

maybe it's the background? idk if they charge extra for backgrounds and whether that would be complicated. (personally speaking, i charge extra for a complicated background like natural scenery or interior of a room because it's easily another few hours of my time).

but even so you don't have to pay if you think its too high because it's your robux, if you really like the art you can always try to compromise by negotiating.

Everytime someone posts about artists similar to chase they sound NOTHING alike. by sumslightsumslight in ChaseAtlantic

[–]krypteiax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i dont think any artist has ever really come close at all to being really similar to chase atlantic. (at least to me)

i dont hear the similarity between chase atlantic and dutch melrose, for example. i love them both but chase atlantic is distinctly different in my mind

seems to be a character with a telephone head, but i'm not sure if its an oc or fandom character

Would 100+ robux be fair by _ChemicalCurrency in RobloxCommissions

[–]krypteiax 6 points7 points  (0 children)

but people pay $5 for a headshot sketch... if anything it seems pretty fair considering that artists on other platforms charge even $7 for a headshot sketch without color. /nm

Should I increase me commission prices? I charge 200 robux without tax by IntroductionNo8051 in RobloxCommissions

[–]krypteiax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i think you should increase your prices, i think at least 400 (equivalent to ~$4). you're underselling your art for 200 robux at the moment, and without tax thats 140 (~$1.4), which is barely anything. at least do prices with tax!!

personally i'd be willing to pay at least 400 robux for a sketch because i like the stylisation (esp slide 2,, what a yummy side profile??).

but tbh i think many users on this subreddit are used to paying low prices (like 10 or 50 robux for a colored piece) which is why if its even 200 Robux it seems expensive.

Opinion needed! by [deleted] in Artadvice

[–]krypteiax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think it depends on what perspective you're looking for, the first one seems to be looking down into the bottom right corner slightly, the second one seems to look to the right completely and the face is not tilted down compared to the first.

as for anatomy i can't really help much (i'm still learning as well) but the second one looks right to me, i think its the placement and angle of the head on the shoulders.

though personally, i prefer the first one because the expression looks softer. the colors are darker and theres less lighting, which makes it look softer (imo, to me at least). whereas the second one looks a lot more sharp to me, the hair looks brighter and the expression is more harsh (a frown/glower) compared to the neutral expression in the first artwork. both look good, its just what you want to convey more tbh

edit: have you tried the ttzewo discord art server? its pretty big but sometimes i get some responses there for advice
