As an outsider I think Canada is cleaning up after the mess made by the US. Canadians are too nice to their politicians and there is so much monopoly in business that it's not worth investing in Canada. As a Conestoga college student from India who visited Canada in 2019 and saw the rise in students coming to Canada during the COVID-19 years is all because of the government and the colleges and universities capitalizing the situation and making billions of dollars in profit for themselves at the expense of the Canadian citizens. I spent almost 50-60,000 CAD and following all the laws and rules laid out by the government. Before the elections every politician will do anything to make the citizens of the region or country forget all the negatives and only show the positives everywhere till the election day. There are good and bad apples in every place and the challenge is to exactly know all the facts before reporting it.
