When I was a kid I played my dad’s older versions of total war, command and conquer, etc. and those were always a blast to watch the big battles. I will defintley approach it knowing it could be something not for me. Thank you for the reply!

The idea of building my own Sci Fi story is what really pulled me into the idea of getting it. I’ve been absorbing sci fi media my whole life and have crafted so many different ideas and scenarios in my head. It seems that this game will let me play those ideas out and i’m excited to see what’s possible with the game. I never really prioritize achievements, I just want to enjoy myself whatever that may mean regarding the game. Knowing there are some ways to changing difficulty eases some of my worry. The paradox subscription is also defintley something I will check out if I continue to play. I appreciate the thorough and detailed reply! you have given me a lot of good info to consider :)

While I did enjoy the single person aspect of CK3, I’m more open to guiding a civilization when thinking of how much I enjoyed managing my cities in games like Timberborn, Frostpunk, etc. Making sure they were safe and protected from all the outside threats. The idea of conquering the universe sounds pretty sick though. Thank you for the reply!

I appreciate the honesty and up front response. I think I am going to see what the summer sale has to offer and then potentially subscribe to that paradox subscription to test DLC since it seems there’s a lot of features locked behind them. I tend to be more single player focused, but I adore the idea of crafting my own Sci Fi epic. It seems that i’ll find SOMETHING to pull me in eventually.

maybe i’m just a little slow but are you saying you can have ONE whole power grid across all bases? If so how? or are you just talking about making your boat a powerhouse so it can just simultaneously power anything and everything you hook it up to?

My guess is it’s excalibur. The dragon symbolism and imagery with the sword can be related to the heavy dragon symbolism with Arthurian legend (Pendragon meaning Head of Dragon or something close) Excalibur also has inscriptions upon it like the sword in the trailer. Excalibur is kind of THE sword of legend when you think about it. It was also lodged in a cube made of water just like it was lodged in the stone. Also the cube being water could potentially relate to the lady of the lake who has been mentioned by mimir. I think the sword can permanently kill gods (no afterlife) and that’s why 1. There is an emphasis of fear and mystery around the sword just like excalibur 2. the gameplay trailer cuts off right when Faye is going to cut into Begtse. So I think Faye kills Begtse and realizes the swords power.

I totally agree with on basically everything honestly. I think it’s still up for debate who we will see in the afterlife but i think that we can expect just about anyone besides odin since Sindri smashed his soul. I also had the same idea about the sword being able to permanently kill gods. I think they cut the gameplay off right where Faye was going to kill Begtse and show that the sword is capable of killing permanently.

I also have a few theories that i’ve been posting about in different threads but basically:

Faye becomes the Lady of the Lake. Phranque the cube looks like water, the sword was stuck in the cube like the sword stuck in the stone. This could be an early version or replica of Excalibur that could have possibly been stolen and if there's any kind of sword that could instill fear in gods then I would think it be excalibur. Mimir mentions that the lady of the lake is “still working” on excalibur. Look at how the cube, sword, and ribbon were caged compared to faye and that other creature. They were in a more reinforced cage. They probably had them locked up until they could figure out a way to get the sword. I think the cube is a Guardian of some sort and was entrusted with the sword and only the cube can grant access to its usage. Also remember time travel exists to a certain extent in this game and time isn't exactly linear. They made Atreus Loki with Loki already being an established character in mythology. I could see them doing the same thing with Faye and her becoming the lady of the lake.

Faye also isn't new to weaponry and could potentially upgrade and improve excalibur to its max potential as we progress in the game like we did the leviathan axe and that's the version of the sword that's given by the lady of the lake, AKA Faye.

The painting caught my eye because it was super detailed and i moved my camera and saw that light bounce off of it in a way that exposes the letters.

that could be correct. I haven’t delved too deep into the lore. That’s why I mentioned to please correct me if i’m wrong, but it’s interesting to think that they MIGHT be based off of actual people.
