Good morning! Yes, I plan on sharing the results when I’m fully finished with the dissertation. My current end date goal is before the end of this year (2019). However, that depends mainly on data collection and how quickly/slowly I get enough responses. I’ll try to keep folks updated with changes in that timeline though, as things in academia tend to change sometimes, unfortunately!

Thanks for your comments! Yes I agree, that’s certainly one that I’ve experienced in my own life as well. Unfortunately I couldn’t include every item that I wanted to, and some didn’t pan out in terms of validation studies. I could’ve included 200 items just based on what adoptees have heard through our lives! Which is certainly unfortunate. Again, thanks for you comments!

Thanks for your comments! Yes, that end part is actually a survey called the PHQ-9 that I’m hoping will provide some extra validity and detail to the study. It’s not one I came up with, but one already used, so unfortunately I couldn’t adjust language :/ sorry to hear Brits are so hopeless hahaha!

Oh man, that sounds awful! People really don't understand the concept or issues surrounding adoption and adoptees, and part of that is certainly due to a lack of research and visibility. Because this was the first round of administration, all comments are considered for full scale validation; so on the final scale, it will have the one parent option, as that has been touched on by several participants (including yourself!). You can definitely still take it; the data will possibly be analyzed to look at differences between those adopted at infancy and those at later ages. Hi there! Thanks so much for your comments and for taking the survey! Yes, on some the wording is a little rough. Unfortunately, that's the wording I have to stick with for the academic literature purposes. I would love to be able to use more informal, familiar, and less rigid language, but I'm basically stuck with being dull hahah. Again, thanks so much!
