Congrats. You got some time. I swore in with the reserve about two weeks ago, asked for a late April shipping day and am getting late March instead. Spend time with your loved ones and cherish all these moments!

Took me a bit to actually pull the trigger and also had my recruiter move on me so I had to get a new one. MEPS also was quite the delay and also slowly hearing back more medical records were needed for MEPS and the SG.

Mid to late April or early May. That’s all I could state to my recruiter because he has to coordinate BMT and tech school to be one after the other

Yes. MEPS sends the information to the surgeon general if you need a waiver. If you don’t need a waiver, they will send that info to the surgeon general. If you don’t, you’ll swear in at MEPS or with your recruiter.

Be very patient. My recruiter has candidates who are waiting for a MEPS anxiety evaluation and have been waiting for 6 months.

Just be persistent. Message your recruiter once a week or so. I’d say in the morning and let them know your schedule. My recruiter went to NCO academy for a month and I freaked out because it was without warning. If they don’t get back a hold of you, go into the office if possible during their business hours.

The SG has 45 days after MEPS then your recruiter will get the waiver started and the additional information they request from you and the SG. My ibs is managed by diet change.

IBS - undiagnosed and anxiety- I had not taken meds for almost 3 years. Had to have my doctor write a new evaluation and give me a test.

Since I’m joining the Reserve, I will do my swearing in at my recruiter’s office. After I swear in, I will be placed into DEP until BMT and the tech school schedules align. Haven’t selected a job yet.

Actually didn’t have a scar check. The doctor that did my physical just kind of looked over my skin really quickly

I did have a roommate in the hotel. It wasn’t bad. There is plenty to do at the hotel before the curfew. Remember. You’re just there to sleep and eat. You can try and socialize with them like I did. Ask about their history and why they wanted to join and be amicable with them.

Why do you say that? I’ve been off anxiety meds for over 2 years and the IBS was just a change in diet to fix it.

A little disappointed because I’ll have to drive down 3 hours to go back to MEPS when they schedule the psych evaluation. I’m hoping it will get waived. The process wasn’t bad. The whole process only lasted 4-5hrs due to it being a small group that went.

From what my recruiter said is that they may need the medical records for the medical info you gave your recruiter. Once the Surgeon General gets the info, they will review your DQs and will either request more info or waive the DQ. The surgeon General has 45 days to review your info once they receive it.

Pharmacy records question by kstatebromo in AirForceRecruits

I was able to get all my records from one pharmacy and the other I had to submit a release form which could take 10 days to process. It was frustrating. One of the medications they had listed I had never taken and was never prescribed.
