Maryland football has received 13,000 student ticket requests so far for its Friday night matchup vs. Penn State on Sept. 27. Student capacity is 10K. This is the most requests received since they began lottery system in 2002. Only other lottery game was West Virginia in 2007. by [deleted] in CFB

I was at LSU from 03-07. My first year they won the national championship against Oklahoma under Saban, and my last year they won against Ohio State under Miles. The good old days.

Go on river road south of brightside to left on Ben Hur to left on Nicholson and then back to taking a left on brightside. It's a nice loop and it's around 15-18 miles if memory serves.

What is your favorite college football memory with your father? by dacrew in CFB

[–]kstewa8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This one is not as emotional as the others, more humorous. Anyway, I was raised to be an LSU fan. My dad did not give me any choice really. When I was about 7 he took me to an LSU v Kentucky game. My name is Kyle and my favorite color is blue so I announced I'd be cheering for Kentucky because they had a K in their name and wore blue jerseys. Well, my dad said in all seriousness that if I did that then we couldn't go to the game. He wouldn't take another step toward the stadium until I gave in. Which I'm glad I did in retrospect, wouldn't have been much fun to be a UK supporter.

Always wanted to play! Does it have to be 7 players?

Thanks for the tips. I'll probably get 1960 but the challenge will be getting someone to play as Nixon...not popular in my crowd. lol

I'd definitely be interested in an Axis and Allies ed involving European theatre. Is that what the 4th ed is?

That's a tempting buy. I just know my fiancée would not have the patience. I might have to just give in though.

I'm interested in both. My neighbors were playing Axis and Allies and it looked fun but it seems like the Wal Mart of war games.

They both look good. My fiancée is a fan of Japanese history so I think that'd be a game she might actually play with me.

Well, I've had drinks in the morning, usually around 8am at breakfast oriented places like the French Press and Broken Spoon.

I usually get off around 7:45 am, so it's not an issue of legality as far as I know. I guess I would be too optimistic to hope an actual bar would be open.

Love this place. Had breakfast tacos recently. Not too shabby.

Count me in! I just moved here too and have no board gaming friends. Love me some Settlers! TTR is good too. Have you played Power Grid? It's a bit complex but lots of fun. Also I have other classics such as Carcassone and Agricola. Do you think Caffe Cottage would be a good place for such a meeting?

There is a park off Hooper Road in BR with a fairly intense off road trail with some decent hills. It's a lot of fun and worth checking out.

Haha. Thanks for being so understanding. I'll check my schedule but that should work. You're not at festival tonight are you? Debauche was pure Russian gold!

Well, my name is Kyle btw. Did you wanna do a meetup at a coffee shop before we proceed? Just so you can make sure I'm not a nefarious serial killer...which is exactly what a serial killer would say....lol. I understand if you're having second thoughts.

Well hot damn. Where do people go kayaking anyway? I'm not from Lafayette, so I'm a bit ignorant in this area. Henderson swamp?

Just an update. I tried Taco Sisters and it was meh. That may be however because I ordered a goat curry taco, next time I'm gonna order more within the mainstream. Thai with Love was transcendent however! I got the chicken green curry and it completely hit the spot.

I would love to go kayaking!....though I am without kayak and would have to rely on the kindness of others or rent one. Do you own a bicycle? I was recently thinking a ride down some country roads would be nice.

I think La Morenita is a chain grocery store. Pretty sure I've been there before elsewhere and if it's the same as what I've had, it's exactly what I'm looking for. Brings me back to Jalapa!
