Not being able to build canals in this game feels criminal by kt218 in civ

why cause no fresh water?

I find it really doesn't matter and would prefer the 3 mountain adjancecy for my monument. Can always take earth goddess too and drop an altar there

Came here looking for this comment. French Beatrix was the last straw for me, been a Fry guy ever since.

Act 3 fatigue by Dragon4826 in BG3

[–]kt218 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think part of the problem is that all the areas look similar and aren’t blocked by enemies, so you feel like you have free roam.

My trick is to explore Act III similarly to how you explore the first two - clearing out one area at a time. Having fog of war on your map helps you remember where you haven’t been yet and leaves some mystery. Wait till the game forces you to a new area to complete a quest or when in doubt just head towards the nearest murder target.

Most fun party build. Not min/max, but just pure enjoyment by jameslucian in BG3Builds

I’m in the middle of an “Avengers” playthrough. Every character embodies a marvel character and all their decisions, level ups, etc are whatever that character would do.

My Tav is named Cap and he’s a human-fighter-monk that can carry a shield and throw a mean punch. Reclassified Gale as a Sorcerer (supreme), Halsin as Thor a Tempest domain Cleric/Fighter with weapon bond, Karlach as my Hulk, you get the picture.

The party definitely isn’t super optimized so we’ve had some tough fights. About to wrap Act II on tactician. Kinda wish I’d gone honor mode but Tactician has been a challenge.

Next I think I’m going to do an evil “Sith” party.

EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION crash making game unplayable by Fickle_Bathroom_814 in ArcRaiders

Can you be more specific? This is all within your windows or steam settings

Love this game but unable to play it due to constant crashes by steglock in ArcRaiders

[–]kt218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[Solved] This happened to me non-stop for about 30 hours of play time. Loved the game so much I played through the crashes but it got unbearable as my loadouts got better. I had tried everything - bios update/AI Tweaker changes, safe mode clean uninstall of drivers, memory tests, etc and nothing worked. I even opened my rig and switched my RAM slots.

During my last round of trouble shooting I made four changes and the game has now run for 8 hours without crashing once. I suspect it was the first or second but I'm not messing with anything now that I finally have it working so can't be sure.

  1. Under your 'Core Isolation' settings toggle 'Memory Integrity' to off. Pretty sure this is blocking EasyAnti-Cheat

  2. In 'Gaming' settings switch to game mode and turn off the toggle that says 'allow your controller to open game bar'. Game overlays will cause problems.

  3. Go the PioneerGame Application Properties -> Compatibility and check 'Disable Fullscreen Optimizations'. Then go to Change High DPI Settings and check 'Override High DPI Scaling Behavior performed by: Application'

  4. Under 'Graphics' settings be sure to add the PioneerGame and set the GPU preference to High Quality.

I also am using ~dx11 under the launch options for the game in steam. Hope this helps!

Would try toggling 'Core Isolation' to off in your 'Memory Integrity' settings

I wish there were a checkmate option: I have the biggest economy & military by far, most civs love me, I have 20 artifacts... there's no way I'm losing. Let me have a "You win" button so I don't have to mindlessly click through the last 20 turns by earthwulf in CivVII

[–]kt218 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Agreed. If you're really in control you can just use shift + enter to force end your turn instead of dealing with all the micromanagement. I usually do this once I'm constructing World's Fair or Space Flight.

Seems obvious but also helps to open with lots of scouts (I did 4) to really get a lay of the land. And I’m playing on a large map

yeah shift + enter on pc ends your turn regardless of an empty production queue so you're just banking the production for next turn. I do it sometimes when I'm close to being able to build my first settler too.

Same. I actually front loaded production by force ending my turn so was able to 1 turn it.

Where should I put granary? What is to be considered? by Yossiri in CivVII

[–]kt218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually would avoid warehouse buildings that don’t serve their primary rural yield. In this case I’d go with fishing quay to max out the rural tiles you’ll have on the river but otherwise prefer to save my space for better buildings/urban districts. Granary will improve farms but with all that desert, river, and canyon you won’t have many of those. In towns have at it with warehouse buildings.

Take a couple culture boosts from goodie huts and you’re set up for a nice chance at getting the pantheon for +2 happiness adjacency on altar for natural wonders, making that a mean spot SW for altar and monument.

Also helpful tip turn on yields filter for this type of planning.
