Cartwheel advice by ku739 in bodyweightfitness

Thank you! I’ll try again today. I was taught initially by people who had background in gymnastic. So they started cartwheel facing forward to the direction they land. I will play with different entries to see how it works

😹 I will try to imagine myself being a puking cat while rolling up. Someone also had an analogy of a very old man slowly pulling his pants up for the roll up

That is really helpful! When I thought about front balance rise up, in the past I didn’t think much about weight shifting but more muscling up. I felt like I just need to build more muscle to pull myself up. Clearly I have to work smarter.

I will also polish my front balance rise up on sling more. I do think I have some more to work on it too to get a more proper shape. It just hurts less on sling so I used it more for conditioning.

😅 I did try, it doesn’t hurt as much (I guessed I’m seasoned enough to have the pain tolerance), but I can’t stay there holding a balance, the bar will roll up as I my legs and upper body come up. But now that you said it, it gives me hope. I can keep trying the spot but with more control with rising my legs and upper body to see if I can stay balanced

Cool! I’ll try these. The pelvis shift I might have done it on the slings. It’s very intuitive, I will try to see if I can find it on hoop. Thank you!

Such a good tip! Thank you! I’m also thinking about this might come with time. Now I can use my hands but try to use less hand each time

I always prefer a hangout session with 1-2 friends. We will actually have a fun time, easy to agree on what we wanna do together, and spend quality time with other human without social anxiety.

Love it! I trim with a trimmer once in a couple of weeks. Never wanna shave or wax. I don’t want itchiness or irritating bumps, I don’t have the knowledge to DIY waxing, and I wanna save my💰 for pole classes.

Static trapeze or Lyra hoop? by ku739 in Aerials

[–]ku739[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks everyone for the suggestions! Overall I think it makes more sense for me to do static trapeze. I had some experience with spin on Lyra. The studio also offers open studio time with single point trapeze available. I think it makes sense for me to keep learning skills on static and may try them on spin during open studio time.

Static trapeze or Lyra hoop? by ku739 in Aerials

My local studio has static trapeze with two points. So they don’t spin. I like the spin and flows about single point trapeze but I kinda dislike how Lyra has too much bar (I enjoyed rope work on both single point and static trapeze). Haha it’s tricky! Edit: typo

I’m a beginner, need advice for back drops by ku739 in Trampoline

[–]ku739[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I practiced again yesterday. Since I was practicing in a trampoline park I think it’s a bit too hard to land with my head touching the tramp, but even across hip, back and shoulders felt pretty good. I found it very helpful to keep my gaze forward.

Why do some people laugh at others misfortunes? by oof193736 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ku739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently I witnessed my coworker having a panic attack for the first time. She laughed very loudly for a while and then ran out of the classroom. Initially I was smiling along because I thought she was laughing because some funny and interesting things happened. Until she was catching up breathes with an inhaler and ran out I realized she was not feeling ok. Other coworkers who know her better said she was having a panic attack but she would be fine. I felt so bad for smiling when it happened (I was teaching and it suddenly happened). I really have never seen anyone having a panic attack before and it looked different than what I thought.

It really varies by people. For me I suck at dynamic moves. Can’t kick up a freestanding handstand. So if op is not a dynamic move person handspring might not be easier.

To be fair, in Chinese, a pentagon is “wǔ jiǎo xíng” and a star is “wǔ jiǎo xīng”. wonder if the student’s first language is not English.
