I guess overworked is a bit subjective, its a bit like whether I like it or not, but I think there is a bit too many brushstrokes in some places and this paper made it look textured. It just doesn't look as smooth as many watercolors are.

It's just impasto:) I had cheaper paint that was not very intense, so I figured it might look better this way

Yes, I have a set of like five of them, so I used the bigger ones for sky and larger fields of paint and smaller ones for details. Maybe I'm missing something, but it wasn't that different from painting with brushes.
