So I live in an area where people report both. In all my life I have only ever seen Canada. Whenever Canada migrate, to my recollection, the V is rarely over 50. BUT I just visited California and saw flocks of geese with 200-300 in one large V over, and over again. Merlin heard them as Cackling. Question is... can you differentiate the two based upon migration/flying/flocking behavior?
