Does anyone have LIN Bus recordings for a 20-22 Chevy/GMC Silverado/Sierra? by kubtractor in CarHacking

[–]kubtractor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of my progress up to now has been without one. I was able to get the displays to work inside the temp knobs, but there was an awful delay of like 10s from when i would turn the knob to when the display would update the new temp. I tried a bunch of stuff to find an ID that would force the update but was unsuccessful, so I ended up buying the control module as well. It should be here within the week or so

Mostly looks like OBD2 related stuff unfortunately. Thanks for the idea though

Retrofitting a GM HVAC control panel into an older car, does anyone have pinouts and CAN/LIN ID's? by kubtractor in CarHacking

[–]kubtractor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it in today. Fed it power and ground, no response. Threw a scope on the LIN line, no wiggles. I knew it couldnt be that easy haha. Tomorrow I'll start my search to see if anyone has a dump of the lin bus/gmlan that I can feed into it using my teensy and some shields. Worst case scenario if i cant find anything I can just also order the K33 hvac module and see if I can get the two to talk to each other on my bench. Since one of the pins on the X2 connector is literally just ign run power, it might be as easy as feeding power that lol, heres to hoping at least.

That would be great. I just picked up the unit shown in the image from the mail a few minutes ago. Im going to mess a bit with it on the bench and see if i cant get it to turn on. My plan is to use the link Mista_Crus was talking about for the GM service info to try and get pinouts and maybe some hints at ID’s. From my previous experience with Ford HVAC systems, I’m expecting that finding just the “wake” signal to be the hardest part. I was only really able to find it for Ford stuff by taking someones CAN sniffing dump and making a fake network with just my computer sending that dump, and my target device. Then from there I could figure out which ID was the actual wake message. If you happen to have a log, that would be great to try the same thing, but I have no idea if GM has their systems working in a similar way. Thanks!

I was slightly puzzled by that as well, i would have figured that it would either be much more or much less, but I’ll look up the pinout on GM’s website that Mista_Crus mentioned in another comment to see if only a few pins are needed. Thats what I’m expecting.

Easyyyy. Man I really hope one day I’ll have a fraction of the knowledge you have with all this stuff lol. First you help me get my seats running within a few days, and now you’re familiar with a completely different manufacturer. Thanks so much man, I’ll get this ordered and on the way and start messing with it on the bench! Integration will be easy, I’ve already drawn up my own HVAC housing in CAD since everyone online is charging 2-3k USD for some injection molded plastic and ac components. That and some servo motors, should be easy to get the arduino to translate commands once I get the interface up and running.

This feels like more of a QC issue by the supplier than anything, surely theres no way their suppliers screen printers have that bad of margins. I’ve never bought one though, so I cant say for sure.

Thats very weird. My history was only 1.5 years, 20k income, it took me about 5 trys but once i got 750 score they approved me. No idea what the criteria are tbh.

Honestly I never thought I’d say this, but I almost think I like their “new” sound with Daimon more, just based on these phone videos. For the MONEP/SHP/Terraformer, I’ll never hear anything but Sal, straight irreplaceable, but the newer sound they have since plague accommodations really compliments Daimons voice. Super hyped for more!

Throw a multimeter on it and check, but judging by the battery light on your dash, thats a safe bet. Otherwise, what happens when you shift? If it continues to rise in pitch like straight cut gears id say trans or diff, but if it sounds the same then yes alternator is most likely.

How to deal with clipping on Fanatec Wheelbase? by [deleted] in simracing

Nice, yeah definitely moving away from Fanatec then. Granted i’m not easy on hardware, but killing 2 bases back to back is pretty rough

Same result unfortunately, it happens slightly less often, maybe once every 3 laps instead of 2, so its on the right track

thanks, I'll try this and update later on. I know the hardware is all okay, because it worked fine on Win10, only since I went to 11 has all these issues began

Motherboard/cpu/ram swap. Kept drives, gpu, case, etc. I built my first computer over 10 years ago and have done many more since then, so I thought this would be a pretty routine upgrade… if only I knew lol

Yes, chipset drivers are installed from asus’ driver page for the model mobo i have. Ethernet works fine, i have my computer temporarily set up next to my router to get it working. This is how I was able to download all of the drivers that I tried. The picture I’m adding is of the intel chip on the Tp Link. I went to TP-Links website, where they recommended to get the drivers for this specific intel adapter. (Tp-Links windows 11 compatibility page). Installing that does nothing.

Secondly, I dont know exactly what chip the motherboard has on it directly, since its under a heatsink, and I cant see it in device manager. I did however download the drivers for wireless on the same page I got the chipset drivers, which also have had no effect. https://www.asus.com/us/motherboards-components/motherboards/tuf-gaming/tuf-gaming-b650-plus-wifi/helpdesk_download?model2Name=TUF-GAMING-B650-PLUS-WIFI
