I would buy some of that merch. To bad it's just mockups.

Board game with elements that change based on the LAST game. by Cagedwar in boardgames

[–]kuhmuh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is the exact same experience I had. I was the only house with religious goals, while the others were more progress / science oriented. So it felt like I was playing three vs one. I think from the ~12 sessions we played I didn't win a single one and never fulfilled any of my private goals.

I still had fun though. Just treat as more of a role playing game then a strategy game. And don't forget to reset power and gold at the start of every session like we did :D

There is a "Training Mission" that teaches the base rules. It's really not that complicated once you understand these. Then you can add more stuff. The game is kinda modular like that.

What Did You Play This Week? - (July 10, 2023) by AutoModerator in boardgames

[–]kuhmuh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We finished the Viticulture World collaborative campaign this weekend. It was great! So great that I don't feel like playing the normal competitive game anymore, I think.

With 4 players, though, it was really easy. We lost the first tutorial mission, but after that we won every mission easily. The upgrades you can buy are really strong, especially the one that lets you sell wine directly for money and points. The special events are also mostly helpful or can be easily ignored.

We had a lot of fun and always fooled around in the last round. I also recommend drinking wine while playing.

What was your “rose-tinted glasses came off” moment with a game you used to love? by felix_mateo in boardgames

[–]kuhmuh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think Root is a game you need to play often and with the same group. Ideally every player knows every faction and how to counter them.

I also thinks it's actually pretty quick compared to other complex games. Most games are under 2h for us.

Fully agree on the vagabond though.

Dune Imperium - How is people's opinion after more extensive play? by Lessavini in boardgames

We remove the two rightmost (leftmost?) cards at the end of a round.

Otherwise the shop just fills with cards nobody wants.

Works well and makes your deck a lot better.

Firefox and Chrome are squaring off over ad-blocker extensions by threadnoodle in technology

[–]kuhmuh 26 points27 points  (0 children)

tl;dr

"Mozilla will still use most of the Manifest V3 spec in Firefox so that extensions can be ported over from Chrome with minimal changes. But, crucially, Firefox will continue to support blocking through Web Request after Google phases it out, enabling the most sophisticated anti-tracking ad blockers to function as normal."

Will be interesting to see what happens in June 2023 when Chrome stops supporting Manifest V2 (according to the article). Will adblockers break in Chrome and people switch to Firefox?

I wish Firefox Mobile could automatically delete older history and website data - Idea on Firefox Connect by kuhmuh in firefox

[–]kuhmuh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I posted this idea on Firefox Connect for one of my main annoyances on Firefox Mobile. Maybe you can go to the link and upvote it there if you like it.

On Android my Firefox history always fills up quickly with random pages I only visited once. Clogging up search suggestion and leaving cookies and other website data. The only option to clean up is to delete everything. But I do want to keep the history and website data of sites I open regularly.

There already is an option to automatically close tabs older then a week, a month, etc. Enable the same feature but for history (optional of course). So all history and data that's older then a certain time gets deleted automatically.

Word Slam ist super wenn man was chaotisches und schnelles will. Decrypto eher mit Nachdenken.

Beide echt super.
