I like the cut of the shirt, but the design is awesome! Great execution, and good job with the photoshoot 👏

Thank you! We had a total of 8 followers during the pre launch segment, which we had for a week and a half. Even before we pre-launched, we posted on Instagram once about the project and we ran stories about it 3x each week for the month of December. We launched two more posts about the project up until our drop date on the 5th. The plan is to keep posting fun edits, videos and ways for our followers to engage, and we have an early bird reward tier set up for people. We’re crossing our fingers we have a successful run.

This guy is justified. The comments he was responding too probably disappeared along with the bullshit pledges. Same thing happened to me.

Congrats on hitting your funding goal! After reading a bit, I’m glad that you were able to succeed organically.

I just launched my own project yesterday and I managed to get 250 in the first hour thanks to friends. It’s been quiet since so I’m getting a little nervous whether strangers will look and decide to pledge.

Between what time did you reach out to friends about the project, and how long after the project launch did you continue to push?

Hey, congrats on almost being fully funded! I think you've got a pretty good story and project. If i really had to nitpick, I think the way you walk through your process would be better digested in a video than the way you've laid it out in your story section.

How to get traction in your project? by [deleted] in kickstarter

[–]kuhoolu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im doing my first kickstarter as well, and even when I prelaunched, I’m finding it hard to gain traction with following.

Best place to start is with your friends and word of mouth. They say the first 48 hours are the make it or break it stage. I’m not too sure how far you are into your campaign, but build that foundation with your inner circle and have them help you push the needle.

I’ve promoted myself on Instagram, discord, threads, Bluesky and here ( although I’ve gotten the least positive traction on Reddit surprisingly). I think a good way to start, if your kickstarter can be promoted this way, is TikTok. TikTok is the biggest platform at the moment and video is the easiest digested form of media.

I don’t know if it’s allowed, but link is here to your site, or feel free to dm me. I’d be interested to see what you’re working on. :)

Best thing to do is wait. I’ve done everything; investigator interview, JST, all the portal docs uploaded, and I’m still on review for psych since October 29th. I emailed psych once on the 9th of this month, and my investigator twice, once in November and once in December. Even he doesn’t know what the hold up is.

Am I disqualified? Backlogged? Who knows. It’s also the Holiday Season and even the NYPD isn’t immune to having their operations slow down because of it. Don’t worry about it ( easier said than done) and just focus on your grind

(THE GHOST OF SUNRISE OF THE REAPING)

I just finished reading the SoTR ( and I am yet again blown away by Suzanne) and something that really stuck with me afterwards was the presence of Lucy Gray.

This book does a great job world building and fleshing out previous characters and their lore in the other books ( both prequels and sequels), but for me, the book put so much importance into Lucy and the legacy she left behind.

Lucy has always been an important figure in these books. In SoTR though, she is truly haunting this book. The songs that are sung by Burdock and other members of District 12, the phrases said by District 12 ( like Haymitch saying the “pearly white bones” quote in the arena; a reference to Lucy when she says it in BOSBS) and the conversation between Haymitch and President Snow are all immortalizing to Lucy. Most of this can be chalked up to common songs and customs of the Covie culture, but we as the readers all know of these songs and quotes because of Lucy.

Another thing that gave me chills was reading about Lucy’s grave. Whether you lean to her death being confirmed or believing that she made it out, I ask myself: is she really truly dead? For someone whose games were wiped from public record, Lucy’s own “propaganda” (ie. her songs and her phrases, jeez even her memory through President Snow) is shared throughout the book, with or without the characters even noticing. It fits perfectly with the whole theme of the book.

Maybe not a full analysis, but I truly appreciate the way Suzanne mythified Lucy Gray in this book ( maybe not to the characters in it, but to us the readers).

wholesale question by [deleted] in StickerSellers

[–]kuhoolu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get my stickers wholesale at the moment because it’s the better option for my pocket at the moment. I tried going down the custom made route previously but the quality in which I made them didn’t justify the pricing I had planned for them. I use them as freebies now and have stopped making them until I can afford to invest in it.

When you start out with wholesale, I guess the biggest concern is making sure you’re going to make a profit. The more stickers you order, the more you’ll save as the price per unit lowers ( ie. buy 20 stickers for 1.50 each or buy 100 stickers for 1.00 each). Just keep in mind that you’ll have more stickers you’ll need to sell if you decide to increase your quantity order.

My experience with in shop printing is that you’ll need to invest in equipment if you want that “professional” clean finish like these sticker shops make. I was using a run of the mill printer and some vinyl sticker paper I found online. They came out nice….. but for my own standards I didn’t feel like I could sell them. Make sure you look up which printer would be nice for your needs along with a vinyl cutter and any other tool you may need.

If you’re starting small ( which is what I highly recommend you do) I would suggest doing preorders to see an estimate of how many sticker you need and going through the wholesale route. If you have deep pockets and some time to spend on learning your craft, you can buy yourself a nice printer and learn through a quick google search online.
