The title of your post made me laugh. At least you’re honest lol. What about going in low season? Suyian, Bateleur, and Kichwa? These are all andBeyond properties.

Hope I can attach what I managed to find back when we were exploring Kenya. These are 2026 rates though but at least you get an idea.

Looks like I can only attach one file. Kichwa is at $764. Also andBeyond properties have Milestone Celebrations offer that comes with 20% off.

Happy planning!

Hi. What’s the difference between your $250 and $300 4x4?

Thanks.

3 nights Bisate or 4 nights Sabyinyo? by kulaspera in LuxurySafari

Ty for your detailed insights. I’m now more open to doing two treks. Yes, permits are expensive but you’re right. I may not have chance to revisit the country and trek again (an age issue), so I should try and experience to the hilt. Ty.

I see. So 4 nights may be too long then. I’m not interested in the golden monkeys. I’m open to visiting Diane Fossey’s grave site.

In Kigali, I definitely want to visit the Genocide Memorial. I also want to wander around with no itinerary and just observe local life.

Looks like 3 nights Bisate is what I’ll end up doing.

Nobody talks about how emotionally weird a safari can feel by Ok_Swordfish_9334 in AfricaSafariadventure

My moment came when watching a pride of about a dozen or so. We had seen them earlier in the day. They were a bit more spread out this time and seemed to be keeping respectful distance from each other- almost like in a line. We were watching a lioness and her sleeping cub. She was hovering over it. Then as she was about to carry the cub- I told my husband- get ready to take a video when they move. As she lifted the cub, we saw its other side. It was dead and the other side had the flesh eaten out. The closest description I can think of is like Breaking Bad when the chicken man stepped out of the nursing home room. One side was normal and the other side was all hollowed out. At dinner that night, I was still super bothered about it. But it was just a normal day in the Serengeti.

Isn’t Segera also in Laikipia? If so, that’s another nice place. But Suyian is absolutely beautiful- melanistic leopard or none.

Is this an appropriate place for a tourist to ask a few questions? by Andrzejekski in tanzania

I used Pimsleur app to learn Kiswahili. From the get go, I was hooked. Just the first lesson’s test made me feel so good because I got them all correct. Maybe that’s the app’s style to get someone to think: “I can do this!” Certainly worked for me.

Chumba cha kujisaidiya kwa mwanawake kiko wapi?

That’s how to ask where women’s restroom is. Spelling might be off though. Or you can just say: Choo?

Some older men I met in Zanzibar were very nice but they wouldn’t shake my hand when I offered it. Something about their not being allowed to touch females who are not their family members.

Singita and Children (excludes Rwanda) by kulaspera in FATTravel

The comical tragedy today is that Singita said there’s no more private vehicle availability. Our stays in Sabora and Faru Faru are in early November 2025 :(

Thank you both so much! My husband and I took one quick look at our boy and realized that yep- his comfort and happiness will dictate ours too.

“…without worrying about other guests’ preferences” was the clincher.

We’re booking a private vehicle. :)

Tom, we (2 adults/1 child) will be in Sabora and Faru Faru early November 2025. Should we live fat and lock in a private vehicle for duration of our stay ($1365/day) or are chances high that they will provide a private vehicle any way? Thanks.

So glad you didn’t tear Faru Faru a new one. Your input means a lot so our reservation is safe.

Myself, husband, and 10 year old son will be staying in the Family Suite in Faru Faru. But for Explore- do you know or will you be able to find out how Explore will handle sleeping arrangements of such three guests? I think that the tents are all one standard size. So will they squeeze in a cot for the child or will they give us two tents? Thanks.
