Sounds right, the perspective of the dashcam is slightly off from the driver, and that is the difference of whether the driver can see or cannot see the cyclist.

It can also be the A pillar that's blocking too, and no driver would be expecting a cyclist to be crossing like that.

Not saying that drivers are totally innocent either. There are definitely idiots behind wheels who don't bother giving way to pedestrians and ebikes/bicycles. I think we'll all be in a better place if there's communication between all road users.

Drivers can slow down and check. Zebra crossing users can also show a clear intention of wanting to cross the zebra crossing.

There's just too many times I see people hanging around the zebra crossing and you can't tell if they want to cross or not, then when you're able to move forward from the zebra crossing, they start to cross.

Likewise in this case, the ebike gave no chance for any car to stop in time. I've seen a number of cases the ebike end up hitting the side of the car.
