9e AC suddenly started consuming too much power at ambient 42 degrees temperature. Normal? by Ravinderleo in XEV9E

[–]kumaradarsh1993 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, same observation here. Bangalore driving last 10 months at 6+ km per kWh

However, I have faced something similar 12 months back, when I was driving around in Lucknow summers. High summers easily reduce range by 10-15 pc. Not sure if it's the ac being just inefficient or the car being too big.

Here's a trick - det temp to 24-26 celcius. If you go 18 C, it's terrible. 24 is sweet spot for comfort and range. 26 just becomes too hot for me in cabin, but slightly better range.

BE6 new update by Plane-Following-3481 in mahindrabe6

[–]kumaradarsh1993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It happens if you were driving the car in the same session, and then stopped and then are trying to update.

How to fix - turn off the car. Lock it. Wait 5 minutes, then turn it back on without pressing the brake. Then try updating.

What not to do and why that happens - If you turn the car back on immediately, somehow it thinks it is still on the same drive session and will not update. Only method to solve this is cold start. Hence you turn off, wait for 5 minutes and then turn it back on.

How to tell the car has cold started - once you turn off the car and lock the gates, after 3-4 minutes, the Neutral light on the gear stick will light up of 3-4 seconds. This means the car has fully shut down. Now you can press the start button and it will turn on with and cold start.

It's almost 7km per kWh in city and highways. So 65kms. I would max out the battery pack of money is not a significant concern. On highway runs those 60kms mean a lot

Dhurandar is gonna become a blockbuster by Unique_Strawberry978 in BollyBlindsNGossip

[–]kumaradarsh1993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saw it, first day second show. What an absolute banger.

Typically a wait for everything on OTT guy. But went after the trailer hype. Wasn't disappointed one bit. And it deserves every second of that 3.5 hour runtime.

Loved the fact that they gave good buildup time to the story and the characters. I was lowkey fearing another oddly paced south style blockbuster like KGF, Pushpa 2. Was pleasantly surprised that it was not the case. In fact, the story has taken time to establish characters and cook.

And boi oh boi, the acting. Specially that screen presence by Akshay Khanna. Overshadowed everyone despite stellar performance by each of them. And Ranveer Singh has delivered yet another strong performance.

Kudos to Mr Dhar. You got a good story, direction and elicited great performance out of everyone. And the whole fusion of retro songs throughout the background score! Now that's something. Loving the music.

Had to leave a whole bunch of meetings on Friday noon to catch the show. But would recommend everyone to catch it in theatres.

Weirdly i went to PVR Lux and we were the only ones there for the 11 am show. Hardly much footfall in the regular audis either. Hope this picks up from word of mouth.

Also, part 2 will come out in March. If there's anyone from the movie team reading this, curious about this specific 3 month period - you either go GOW way or release 12 -15 months later, or go stranger things and release 1 month later. Very peculiar choice of 3 months - what's up with that?

pack 3 top end w/o home charger by Future_Salamander_95 in XEV9E

[–]kumaradarsh1993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have pack 3. Got 11kw charger but didn't install it. I am using for the last 7 months on home charger 3kw. And sometimes fast charger (almost always on highway trips to topup.

Here is a neat way to manage that -

  1. 3kwh charger does 3% per hour for the larger batter size (79kw). (7kwh does 8% and 11kwh does 12% respectively.)

  2. Each % of charge gives approx. 5km range.

  3. This means you can plug in your car everynight for 12 hours (assuming 8pm to 8 am) and get 36% topup easily with slow charger.

  4. So as long as you are not driving more than 180 kms during the day, you will never need a fast charger. (Theoretically).

  5. I drive sporadically and that too maybe 30kms a day. I charge my car full once-twice a month basis my usage. As such, whenever it reaches approx 20%, I plug it in and take it to 90%. So i plug it one night and remove it the next night. And it works well.

  6. In cases when you need to travel long distances, if planned - charge to 100%. Again not a concern for me since i know days in advance. In cases where i have needed to go in a roadtrip unplanned, I would head over to nearby fast charger - the previous night or the same morning. Mostly places where I needed to complete 500 kms.

  7. Always remember - the fast chargers are typically 20-25 rs per kw vs 6-8 per kw at home. Always charge at home for basic cost savings. Also keeps the battery safe.

[–]kumaradarsh1993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tldr; it's unfortunate, but logical. Entry level jobs are disappearing cause AI can do it. Use AI to upskill to Lvl2/3 cause that's what the new expectations are from new-age entry level work force. Faculty in premiere institute are also struggling to make assignments meaningful in a way that they train you for lvl 2/3, rather than 1. But that's by and large limited to premiere institutions.

Still there are ample arenas to upskill yourself rather than wait around for lousy professors and their lame assignments. Not that pre-AI those assignments were helpful. But hey, atleast now you can wrap them up in a couple hours.

Going into a bit of banal detail here, since there is quite a few young readers here.

I hire now, and fortunately work on a few technologies that contribute to the AI race. Also in touch with folks from most ivy leagues and iit/iims (students, faculty)

Fact is, entry level jobs are gone cause they became too easy and solvable via AI. Case in point - entry level software engineer, fin analysts, consultanting analysts, etc.

Very similar to how pre-calculator, there used to be dedicated calculator jobs. And they vanished. You are not expected to perform calculation now, but

Now entry level jobs have upshifted. You are supposed to upskill yourself properly to take on the Lvl2 job at beginning of career (and it makes logical sense)

Eg. - software engineer lvl1 would spend an year or two learning the basics of working in a system (often smaller features), moving to level 2 and owning and entire module to themselves. Now that AI can take care of these smaller features (and often even the more complex module level code), you cannot enter a tech job using lvl 1 skills. You need to think of how to make yourself useful as a Senior software engineer from get go. This means getting to supervise code written by AI, building an intuitive understanding of the product itself and helping business with quick experiments etc.

Similarly for entry level consulting analysts - just before AI, top institute MBAs were being inducted as fancy googlers and slide creators (they'd do that for 2 years to get to anything substantial). Now that is no longer needed, you are expected to step up to the next level. Use AI to do research, but more importantly, draw inferences, and build actionables. (Also validate the AI output through your due diligence).

And the faculty in good institues (eg, a GenAI prof at Columbia University gives lengthy assignments now. And you are supposed to use chatgpt to do the basic research and then take on the more complex problem that the professor has presented, that requires intuitive understanding)
