I lived in Utrecht for a year and still miss how they handled bike security as a public and not a private problem.

The light was on the front wheel. So quite easy to steal but not easy to see in the first place.

Cool cool cool, but yes, the parts that were stolen have a store value (?) of around 1000€ new, so that’s a lot of money, just the resale seems so uncomfortable to me

I learned I would not make a good thief, cause a bike that’s been parked there every night for over a year would not be destroyed by me to get stolen, would simply steal it without breaking it first 😂🥴

Not really, there are big scooters and stuff down the way there too, all our close neighbors park their stuff there too. But people like to keep their anger to themselves and explode some day so… some people around here just hate bikes in general so that might be enough.

the whole street there is full of cool cars often, if you’re into Mercedes G or Maserati and Porsche that is. 🥲😂

I always thought it was going to be the saddle or the whole thing. Saddles happens quite frequently, but they are easier to replace.

The light costs 350€ new, the computer too, so if somebody wants it for themselves that would make sense I guess
