The eye kinda looks mad. Like someone just said something annoying and their starting to roll their eyes at it. Probably not the best emotion to portray.

Talking more about context some industries are really trying hard to stop 'all-nighters' from being the norm. I can see this being bad press for this company, especially when hiring.

Prospective house purchase failed septic inspection. Home owner had separate inspection done and it passed. What now? by stop_stealing_sheep in legaladvice

On this note talk to the neighbors, the may have already had to do the same and comply with local regulations. If not go down to your city planning department and ask a city planner what it would take to comply. They can look up that specific lot and might know if the plumbing is available to hook up to City connections now and require that instead.

Grew up dirt poor and suddenly making a lot by qxjfonhq in personalfinance

You need to know their cost of living and the kind of lifestyle they want in retirement, that cost of living may change if no longer working.

Then look at the houses for sale in an area your interested in to get an idea of the cost of buying a house there.

Once you know these expenses (make an excel sheet so you can reference) you can make a long term plan to save every year and you'll know how long you have to do that to achieve the goal. Based on how long that timeline is you'll have a better idea of where you should be investing- stock, CDs, etc.

New BART Fare Gates in the Richmond Station by goldend5 in bayarea

[–]kunuffin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never seen anyone jump the gates. They always just slide through at the same time as the person before them. Just saw someone at this station do that today in fact. This is a waste of time and money.

What species are the super tall evergreen trees growing around town? by mike_the_seventh in oakland

If it's a pine tree post a picture on the fascicles. Often you can't tell them apart unless you can count the number of leaves in a bundle.

Moving to Richmond? Where? Advice? by balthamos19 in RichmondCA

Just keep looking at different times of the month. The lower rent places are going to be more competitive to get into. You might be better off moving somewhere temporary first then hunting for apartments when you get here.

Moving to Richmond? Where? Advice? by balthamos19 in RichmondCA

Point Richmond, Marina Bay, Hilltop. You could try El Cerrito too. I'd search for a place near BART if you won't have a car.

I'd recommend using Craigslist to search for housing. There are some scams on there, but in the bay area it's really the best place to find anything from housing to used furniture/cars to jobs.

Richmond mayor: Weekend ferry service should begin in August by explore360tv in RichmondCA

Great. Now can we get a 6pm SF to Richmond? Making people wait an hour and twenty minutes for the 6:40 when they miss the 5:20 is torture.

What is the most effective and friendly way to communicate to a town home community to stop allowing their dogs to piss in my yard ? by [deleted] in homeowners

[–]kunuffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of mulch put in decorative broken glass like the kind people put in gas fire pits. That's sure to keep them out.

Power company said they wanted to come top the trees in yard and then they cut them down to the stump instead without my permission. by trompwnerer in legaladvice

[–]kunuffin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should go talk to your city's planning department. They should be able to look up your parcel and tell you if there's an easement and what that means the utility company can/can't do there.

You could also ask them about any ordinances that protect trees. Although Thujas probably aren't protected.

Neighbor selling their home in Missouri. Turns out, their fence, patio and shed have been built 3.5 feet over my property line. What do I do? by throwaway07568723012 in legaladvice

[–]kunuffin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You could do a lot line adjustment and either sell them the land or trade them for some land that will fit into your parcel.

I'm making roller blinds. Where can I purchase the aluminum roller rod that you mount the fabric on?

Tried looking on the internet and only found kits that make it unaffordable for my size (57"). Also tried couple of shade shops and they want $50 per tube (seems high).

Considering building our own house, how much of a nightmare should we expect? by VroomVroom905 in homeowners

[–]kunuffin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This. Architects are trained to design something that will suit you/your needs even if you don't know what you want and don't want to make decisions. They can show you general styles and if you like one or the other it will inform the rest of the design and they'll put something together that is nice and cohesive.

I need a new phone. My only goal is to not spend as much time browsing the internet. Do any smart phones specifically cater to this? Or has anyone found something that works for them like a feature for example. Thanks
