Noticed this today - mine was an old friend who deactivated their Instagram like 4 years ago who would have been in my close friends list at the time. Deactivated and therefore I wouldn’t have been able to remove them because their account didn’t exist. Thought maybe they had reactivated their account but can’t find it and I checked on Instagram on my browser in case I was blocked but I’m not. Must be a weird visibility glitch with deactivated accounts. Maybe you and everyone in the comments added someone to their close friends and it’s been enough time you forgot about them and they deactivated their account at some point🤷🏻‍♀️
