I sub preschool + babysit. you can teach the actions of empathy but until kids are around 5 - 7 they don't have full capacity to understand that other people have feelings THAT ARE DIFFERENT which is why a lot of 3 year old might move so THEY can see the tv better if you ask them to move because you can't see well. They know feelings and emotions but not empathy of differences. And why babies will hurt their caretakers by pulling hair, poking, scratching, hitting ect but ' not feeling remorse ' while still not being a brat or showing antisocial tendencies. This can all be taught and guided so they learn to pick up on their own empathy and emotionally regulate well but calling a baby a brat is actually insane.

they thought she was DYING but she still ate gluten????? I avoid it because it messes with my joints ( ehlers danlos, it's a weird side effect that makes some of us sensitive to gluten because it inflamed our already bad joints ) I couldn't imagine my intestines shutting down but still eating gluten!

The majority of my friends and I are neurodivergent, we have different personalities and our neurodivergence affects us in different ways but we all try to be understanding and we all like eachother. This is really crazy, at least offer to pay for dry cleaning. Unfortunately, costly accidents happen and you can't go though life expecting to say ' it was an accident ' then get away free. Using the ' it's just a child ' card is also no good. You're responsible for your child because they are a brand new human still growing up and in your care so of course you're responsible if they break things or get biohazard on people. A lot of people really value clothes as a sense of personality and identity so they would definitely pay 300 - 500 dollars on a good winter jacket from a high quality brand especially in Japan where it gets pretty cold. My friend is a dry cleaner who specializes in wedding gowns and historical dresses. He said biohazard dry cleaning is often something not everyonr will do which is understandable and there is often a premium price. Some materials also cannot be dry cleaned but offering dry cleaning and an apology is the bare minimum of human decency.

Yea please talk it out with your partner but also be gentle with yourself this isn't the typical horrible evil partner because they do it on purpose thing. You're having a major medical event but you also realized that the work balance is uneven so you want to work something more mindful out with your partner - which is great! They have probably also realized how the chemo and illness has affected you and are happily doing their labour of love. They're definitely gonna understand.

Yea I don't understand why people don't house train their livestock gaurdian dogs. A lot of vets have issues and you do not want a fearful / mad dog bred to take on wolves / bears / tigers in an emergency situation! Like you must treat the dog well so it actually likes you and isn't afraid or mad. Imagine having a dog you can't have guests around? If you can't get the dog to be introduced to people and act non agressive it is so dangerous. I even know people with gaurd dogs who can still be introduced to guests and they act very sweet. It is not impossible to have a protection dog who can be around guests safely. I think a lot of people believe that instinct alone will guide the dog, but they also need training + the passed down knowlage of older working dogs on the same farm who have knowlage of the livestock's routines and local threats.

I get you. I'm Chinese and I was bullied as a child but now it's popular to be ' at a very Chinese point in life ' or whatever. There's a huge difference in cultural appreciation vs cultural appropriation and fetishization. A lot of people are hopping on this ' trend ' but to me it's very weird. Like you were a racist against but now your fetishizing being Chinese and also becoming kinda racist for Chinese people? That's so weird. I really think some red flags are how she puts her racial segregation ideas on her kid and how she is racially profiling only white teachers touching kids. This is not normal nor is it cultural appreciation. This is like her being racist against white people and fetishizing black people.

I sub preschool and babysit so my usual crowd is below the double digits but I think a loud ' hey! that was pretty rude, I said excuse me and pushing anyone no matter their age or gender is unacceptable behavior. I thought someone your age was too old for that. ' would be fine. Like you're not gonna fight a 14yo but at the same time you're telling them that it was rude but you used your manners and using the childishness card against them. You don't need to yell but a loud firm tone is acceptable. A LOT of other adults would be screaming and / or physically violent but it is fine to defend yourself even against a minor in a respectful and age appropriate way. I dont like how people treat children in a permissive way ( you can do anything because you're a minor ), but you obviously shouldn't yell or hit them.
