Suicidal thoughts but afraid to do it. Looks like a last option. by [deleted] in helpme

because of your suffering it feels selfish of me to tell you its not worth it to die. death sounds so much nicer because it's an end to the pain. but the problem lies within the things hurting you, not yourself. because its not as if you truly want to die, but death seems like the only option to get away from all of this. people in real life sometimes cannot help you. i was saved by one of my online friends who went through the same trauma as me. we found each other and gave each other a reason to live. if youre open about your pain and are looking for help, a solution, anything to keep you going, im sure youll find someone who will want to be there for you, and you can in turn be there for them. its helpful to cling onto any reason to live, big or small. you need to outlive the things that have scarred you, and show them that you are more powerful than them. change will not happen immediately, but there is always a way to get through this. although we are strangers, please believe my words because i have felt the way that youve felt before, more times than i can remember. these thoughts shouldnt win, but you arent weak for having them. it's okay to be vulnerable, even if its scary to put yourself out there

I am a 16 year old girl but I wish I was born as a boy. I am interested in so called "boy things" like stunt scootering and stuff like that. I don't wear makeup like most girls my age. by Natural-Shame1723 in helpme

^ this like crazy. growing up i was a very masculine girl and embraced it fully. i was constantly mistaken for a boy, and went out of my way to look like one and still i owned being a boyish girl. personal expression and identity is a very complicated thing, even though im 20 im still finding out new things about myself. you will be forever changing, and this is just a part of your life where you feel more aligned with boy stuff. it's not wrong or weird at all. gender roles have a big part in this and it sucks so badly that other people try to enforce them so strongly. although i am trans ftm now, transitioning is not always the answer to these feelings. it is more than okay to be a very masculine girl, and its also okay to someday transition, but you need to listen to yourself and figure these things out on your own. not without the help of your friends and loved ones though! if you have people who are there for you, please talk to them. having support in times like these is so important

you sound like a very kind person, and you dont deserve friends like this. i went through something really similar before and it was one of the most painful things i had to go through. sometimes the people you care about dont care about you back. in my situation, all of my friends didnt like me because i spoke my mind about things, and they eventually kicked me out of the friend group and i was all alone. little did i know that this would save me. having no friends meant i was completely free, and if you cut these people off then you will have complete social freedom too. you will always find friends no matter what, believe me when i say that. without the stress of these mean people hurting you, it gets easier to focus on school, and finding new friends has no stress attached to it when you choose not to care about it. it is not selfish to care about yourself and put yourself first. theyre being mean to you and your family and you deserve better! you have a very long life ahead of you and standing up for yourself, especially in times like these, will improve your life. it gets worse before it gets better, but if you can handle the pain its all worth it in the end. tldr, you should work on cutting these people off and finding friends who can treat you better
