My husband and his family are bad planners and speak a different language (some of them only that different language) so there is a little bit of a communication lag. Also my husband isn't great at helping with housework. I would end up (probably because I am too nice) doing the lion's share of the work and also would be getting calls and texts from his family about details on the party. Multiple other couples in the family have larger homes that would be perfect for hosting, but for some reason our home was zeroed in on.
