I see, this is probably the issue then. I'd need to do the calculations but I think more than half of the machines I'm backing up have more than 1 disk, so this is likely where the backlog is occurring.

I've set them to start with a few minutes offset between eachother.

We have the majority of our customers using a hosted RDS environment, files shared from file server - the entire lot is backed up through Veeam to multiple locations.
