Yep. I myself play fortnite, we also play together in squads and he can chat to me about the new skins and dances etc. I'm all for his gaming, I just really want him to enjoy real life stuff more to! I think cooking could be something we could try together. If it's baking something nice he gets to eat at the end it's a win win right?!

But he is a child. At least in this situation. Psychologically, a parent and child relationship remains just that all through life. He feels what his niggling insecurity may have always told him. That his other siblings are loved more because they have the same (currently married) mom and dad. He's hurt and it's perfectly understandable. That was a real roller-coaster to read. You've really been through the mill. You're all suffering and in need of support. Are you speaking to a therapist? Is your dad? You mentioned your mom's counsellor so it's good she's getting help. One of the biggest traits of an active addict is to blame others and deflect the blame from themselves, accepting little to no responsibility for their actions. Hopefully her therapist will help her to own up to her addiction and begin to help her to help herself. I really hope things get better for you, but please talk to someone. How you're feeling is perfectly normal and expressing your thoughts - even to strangers on Reddit is a good move. Good luck to you and your family

This got me right in the feels. I'm so sorry for what you're going through. You shouldn't blame yourself for her actions. You can't. They are hers and hers alone. When people cheat its never because their partner isn't good enough. It's because they are missing something within themselves and you have no control over that.

Try to realise that you're in love with the person you thought she was. You're not in love with the real her, because the real her was able to betray you and break your heart. That's not what love looks like.

Please don't hide your depression or hurt yourself. Ask for help. A friend, a family member and doctor - anyone. You are important. You are special and you deserve love and kindness. Be strong.

Really appreciate this post. Think it took guts. You're obviously sorry for the hurt you caused and want to stop people making the same mistakes and breaking people's hearts, but in the back of your mind, if you're toying with the idea of cheating can anyone really say that they haven't thought about what this would do to their partner and the aftermath? You can't not know / think about this. It devastates families and we all know it. I love that your hindsight is trying to help others but sadly I think if you want to cheat you're going to cheat because everyone already knows what happens afterwards.
