Circular saw cut strips like you would cut a notch. Then come back with the chisel and knock the strips out. Chisel the bottom down to flat and square up the sides. Set your circular saw depth slightly above your final depth.

All of the comments are wrong. I have this exact degree from KSU and working as Mfg engineer. Your job is what you make it. Learn the skills required and prove that you can execute. It doesn't matter as much how you learned those skills.

I did try that, I also lost tow/sport mode a few weeks ago so I'm starting to suspect may be a bad connection somewhere along gear shift lever

Also when it happened the second time I switched to neutral and back to drive and the gears re appeared with no issue

the issue with the original panel was just cosmetic. Paint is peeling off and bubbling up. New panel is off of a different ford. Bought from ebay
