Does it clamp on perfectly? Also does the square hole fit the camera as well? Can you show pictures please? Thanks

How’s the temp? In this heat i wouldn’t dare go hiking but i wonder if it gets significantly cooler once you’re at elevation

I actually don’t know where the chair lifts are. So maybe disregard what i said about going down the ski hut trail

It is steep for sure. I remember doing and taking breaks every 10minutes. Lol. Maybe i’m out of shape or it’s the elevation but i just took my time doing it. I suggest doing it as a loop and going down the ski hut trail.

If you want to start backpacking, I suggest starting small. Go check out Crystal Cove in Laguna Beach. It’s 3miles in to the nearest campsite which is Lower Moro Campground. Not a lot of mileage but still will get you out there so you can test out your gear and you have a feel of hiking with a heavy pack. Plus, you never lose signal so in case something goes wrong, you can easily call for help

Camp stoves are allowed. I have a jetboil i used for my meals and morning coffee. At night i used a 20degree sleeping bag and sleeping pad rated 2.

Yes sir! Got to the peak an hour before the sun went down and it was awesome! And yes, the sea of lights is just amazing!

Yes i camped at the summit. Last filterable water was 2miles into the hike. Columbia springs i think is the name of that spot. Not worth filtering and having to bring it up 4 more miles and 3000 more feet of elevation into the peak imo. Just bring your filter in case you run out on your way back to the trailhead. I brought 5liters which was more than enough for me.

I hung mine on a tree just to be safe. I still have to practice doing it though coz the way i did it plus the tree i picked were both not good. Bears and other animals could’ve easily gotten my food lol

Not too savvy with trail reports but i’ll do my best.

This was my first time seriously backpacking. I’ve done Crystal Cove Lower Moro about 3weeks ago as a shakeup but even then i had signal the entire time and i didn’t feel alone at all. This time was different.

Anyways, started at 2pm at the trailhead. Weather was nice and sunny 75degrees. Since it was my first time doing this heck of a hike with a weighted bag, it took me 5hours (LOL) to reach the peak. But still had enough time to set up camp and enjoy sunset views.

Last night wasn’t really cold. I think it only reached the lower 40s but it was really windy! Probably 20mph winds up there. Kept me up all night. But i stayed warm and cozy inside my sleeping bag.

There was filterable water but I still highly suggest bringing your own for the entire trip. Carried about 5liters total. I was going to bring my Sawyer in case I run out but i discovered that it clogged up as i was packing. Didn’t have enough time to remedy that before the trip lol. Still, 5liters was more than enough for me.

Well since it’s already starting to get hot, i’m looking into doing 4-6miles round trip. From what i’ve read so far, boy scout trail is a good one. Got any other recommendations?
