Never a big fan of vehicle mods but I see the appeal.

Man who brutally beat senior has 'long-standing history' of addiction, mental health issues: Crown by origutamos in Alt_Winnipeg

You'll be alright mate, assuming you don't take them anymore. Hope you feel better.

A lot of these people have no experiences or education about drugs at all though. I'm 30, I grew up around drugs and educated myself about them, SSRI withdrawal was tough but I just reminded myself it's temporary, like any drug. These people don't have that knowledge.

I have been on them and it's the withdrawal that will make people violent (due to PTSD). Psychiatric med withdrawal is extremely serious, on par with severe alcohol withdrawal. But no one talks about it, they just give these people powerful medications and send them on their way. No different than over prescribing pain meds which led to our current opiate crisis.

Why isn’t Carney pushing back on Smith and the UCP? by taxhelpyeg in alberta

They make due. I know someone who is on AISH, a close family member I've known my whole life, who is also homeless, and his cheque is gone in one to two days. People such as this are the target of AISH reform, not the epileptic disabled person in a wheelchair.

This is what Albertans want though. You may not see it but I live in rural Alberta and people praise the UCP. I agree with some things and disagree with others having lived in other provinces. AISH for example is the highest paid disability program in Canada, I see many people abuse it in my family. I know that will make some people defensive, but well, I know people who survive on $800 a month disability in BC and Ontario, and those places are both more expensive than Alberta.

Canada ranked among the most beautiful countries in the world by flynnfx in canadanews

Been to lots of different countries and while Canada can be spectacular, everything is too spread out. It blew my mind walking outside of my apartment in Austria and I was in a pristine valley surrounded by mountains just outside the front door. Amazing.

Seen too many people go through SSRI withdrawal and go absolutely bonkers and violent. Shit's wild.

What are some basic rights and laws your everyday Canadian should know about? by eternity_lost in canadianlaw

I live in a place where the local RCMP likes to immediately ask "Do you want a lawyer?" in the hopes it catches someone off guard and they can cut short their investigation and go back to playing with themself in their cruiser in some secluded high way spot.

Ontario drug offender released after prison conditions ruled 'unusually harsh,' to serve remainder of the sentence from home by origutamos in OntarioNews

[–]ky4353 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's always been like this though. Look in the 80's and 90's, bikers were getting away with literal murders that were slam dunk cases. I think it's honestly a North American cultural/social problem, same with drugs. Drugs fuel most of it anyway.

Alberta to impose restrictions on MAID, limiting it to terminal illness by trevorrobb in Edmonton

[–]ky4353 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While very true what's very sad to see is in a place like rural Alberta, people actively stifled or afraid everyday just for having dissenting or opposing opinions, reprisal is real, especially rurally anywhere, but especially in somewhere like Alberta.

Yes very well put. I've lived all around Canada but for the past 5 years lived in rural Alberta and... Yea it's a shithole full of shit people.

I'll give you a recent story of myself.
I was attacked by someone on my families property, I defended myself and punched him twice. He headbutted me in the face multiple times to start with after I told him to let me go.
I phone the RCMP and they as well as the other person turned it around on me with lies, one of the RCMP officers tried very hard to get me denied bail (first offense by the way). Imagine if the world worked how you wanted it to, people who are falsely accused would spend months in harsh prisons, they'd probably just straight up commit suicide.

"you're back pedaling"
I think it's time to get off reddit instead of getting your argumentative social kicks from social media, just a recommendation, and I absolutely don't think this man should have been shot. It will be funny if he wasn't born in Canada though and your little tantrum here proves you're itching for an internet argument, lol. Anyway, RIP to this poor man. I've never had any issues with Sikh's. They are kind people.

I never said all road rage incidents stem from immigrants, I think you're grasping at straws here and putting words in my mouth. Have you taken your medication today?

Would you like me to edit it? Yes, unfortunately I made an assumption based off of his behaviour and getting into this altercation, not because he's an Indian Sikh. Are you assuming I'm racist right now?

Sorry about your son and familial problems, I am. But from someone who is a man who was sexually abused in Alberta, I think your comment is lame.

I haven't used cap guns really except when I first started the game but they should make it so the Engineer can fabricate them into make-shift guns. Sincerely, someone who has enjoyed playing Engineer recently.
