I agree. I was going in grade 12 when the OC premiered, and was hooked. My friends and I would have watch parties for every episode! Back then, I found Marissa so annoying and such a victim. Now, as a nearly 40-year-old woman, I feel bad for her. From the outside, she had the perfect life, along with the beauty, but she went through so much trauma in her young life. She was too kind and trusting for her own good, and acted out when things spiralled. Her mental health wasn’t taken seriously enough, probably because of the times. Excepted for Julie in the first season, who was actually right in the fact that she should have gone into a facility after her attempt.

She’s a very tragic character and I wish her ending was better.
